You are right in your explanation and that in some religions your life and actions are governed by the religion itself. However there are religions that are what people honestly accept and practice and these are no less restricting than wearing shoes on a gravel driveway. Religion is one's personal belief unless you are talking about organized religion where you have set boundaries and hierarchy. Don't be fooled by the language it is the personal belief of the individual that matters.

I think you need to maybe actually know what you're talking about before you post questions like this, faiths ask people to think for themselves hence the whole choice factor.

If people choose to say they are of a faith and then disregard the faith's teaching then the faith is not wrong the person is.

It's just like dynamite, it was made to make miners' life easier however it was used to kill masses of people to this day.

Religion is the ultimate con, it is government protected, tax free and the product they sell doesn't have to be delivered until you reach a place that doesn't exist. No wonder so many people jump on this manured money wagon. I pity the fool who can waste their life trying to give meaning to their pitiful lives through infantile god concepts. To the idiots who claim their "relationship" with the cult figure, Jesus, is not religion, get a brain.

no, relegion plays a very important role in a persons life, especially if we people really have a passionate and true heart in it. It heals, saves and assures us of our destiny that no one could trully promise us. In this troubled world that we live in, our beliefs gives us security.

Religion was a good idea until people started killing each other over it. And don't act too proud Christians, you are the worse ones!

You are completely correct. That is my greatest objection to religion.

Monty Python got it exactly right in The Life Of Brian. Should be required viewing in schools.

No. Would you want someone living as a murderer? It takes morals to show right from wrong. These must ultimately come from God.

Maybe "religion" does - but not a relationship with Jesus Christ. Knowing Him is having peace, contentment, favor, love, joy, etc - in my life. I am glad to know the Prince of Peace - Jesus. He is the greatest gift we can have in our lives.
