My wife is very keen on losing around 5kgs. I came across a GM diet on the internet which people claim is very effective. Anybody who has done this? Does this actually work?

It also says that you cannot drink any kind of alcohol, is smoking allowed?

It does work for me, but not 5kg. The best I've lost was about 2-3 and I think it's mainly water weight and some muscle.

There are some real benefits, my energy level goes up since I cut down on sugars and carbs and it does cut out many cravings. candy, beer, chocolate, chips and other junk food.

I'm actually on day two now, it's been 3 years since I last did it. I've been feeling like I need to go through it to boost the energy and control the holiday junk. You should have seen the leftover candy at our office today.

I would recommend it if she feels that she could use a jolt and feel healthy, although, I'm not sure how she would if she smokes. But smoking also suppresses her apatite, so based on that logic I would say she can smoke while on the diet.

Good luck.
