i think becoz medical college admn have to arrange many things for students for practicals and other activities etc thts why they charge students for that....but telling u its not that expensive in my country......n students can easily afford it, though its realy tough to get admission there, we have to get good marks in 10th grade, then in premedical studies of two years n need to get vyre high marks n then again we have to appear in entrance test ..realy a tough one....coz we have shortage of colleges n for 625 seats more than 3000 students appear every year. sorry this is irrelevant but just sharing. thanx

In India, Government medical college education is not very expensive as the Government heavily subsidizes the cost, though private medical colleges' fees are very high. To run a teaching medical institution involves huge initial and running expenses: salaries, equipments, books, journals etc.

Because if one passes all the courses and becomes a doctor.. they know that on average, the incomes are enough to support the high educational costs.
