A clear liquid is one that you can see through. Have you been advised to drink clear fluids by your Dr? Your best bet is to drink plenty of water, or flavoured water. Chose one with a low sugar content. Pure mineral/spring water is better though.

usually when they say clear they mean liquids that are clear of dyes-----There's a clear gatorade that my mother was allowed to drink before a procedure...listen when you get to the place for your cat-scan you will probably have to drink a white drink before hand---water may be the one that goes best with that drink.Think before you drink.......

clear liquids are ones that light would pass thru.
for example: cranberry juice, or apple juice would be considered clear liquids, but orange juice would not.

in hospital terminology it means liquids you can see through-apple juice, but not apple cider, etc.
