i have windows xp(professional), can i install a new copy of windows 98 and can use them both ...i know windows xp can be install over 98 but can the same be happen with windows 98

No u cant install lower version over higher version..

u will have to first install Windows 98 and then XP as windows XP will not let u install windows 98 as thats the older version and if u install through a bootable CD then u wont be able to acces your windows XP so u will havr to do that
first install windows 98
and then install windows XP

Don't install windows 98 if u have xp.98 is a small baby in front of xp....but if u still want to u can by having 98 in a partition and xp in other....

You would need to repartition your hard drive so that you have a FAT32 partition for the Windows 98 and a NTFS partition for the Windows XP, but yes, in theory you could do it. Another alternative would be to add a second drive for the Windows 98 FAT32 partition.

If you want to be able to use both operating systems, you need to partition the hard drive and install win98 on the empty sector rather than installing over the top in the same sector, which would replace win98 with XP. You'll need a partitioning tool like fdisk or PartitionMagic, and enough free space on your hard drive.

No u cant Install ...What u can do is format it and reinstall with partition and 2 Different OS installation

why would yopu want 98? theres is like nothing compatible with it anymore.
