My son dropped off this puppy and it became very ill. I quickly seperated it and then it died two and a half days later. It had diarrhea bad and was lethargic. I have 4 pomeranians and they are 15, 4, 2 1\2 and almost 2 years old. I'm not sure it was parvo or heartworms but need some advice.

sounds like parvo, sorry to hear that the puppy died, i had two dogs that had parvo, and surprisingly, with lots of work, they did lived, you must clean the yard, and house, spray bleach water every where, parvo is very contagous, keep your other dogs away from wherever the puppy was, especially where it went to the bathroom, it is transmitted in the stool, have your dogs had there vacinations? watch them closely, signs of the virus show up in 7 to 10 days.
a fact about parvo
birds actually are what spread it from place to place as they walk in the dog poop.
the dog actually dies from dehydration because of the bloody diarrhea.

Sorry to hear the puppy died. It was really good that you separated it quickly from your dogs. Parvo is very contagious, you need to clean and disinfect the area where the puppy was asap. The Parvo virus can live for a very long time!

Did the puppy go to the bathroom outside in your yard? You have to clean any area where the puppy was. Don't let your dogs go anywhere near the places where the puppy was.

I'm assuming that your dogs have all been vaccinated? It isn't a guarantee but it helps. You should call your vet and find out what they recommend for disinfecting your home and/or yard.

Once again, sorry to hear about the puppy. Best of luck.

well, ASSUMING that your dogs were vaccinated against Parvo, there is not much to worry about.
Too bad you didn't take the sick puppy to the vet.
