Age: 16 Gender: Male Height: 5'7" Weight: 7 stone 11
I know a lot of questions simular to this have been asked but bear with me: I know that height is mainly genetic but how can i maximize my growth potential during the next few years of my life?
What can i do during this stage of puberty that will allow me to reach my optimum height? What foods shall i have or not have? What sport or exercises would help? and any other information would greatly be apreciated. Thankyou.

Make sure you have adequate nutrition, especially protein and calcium. I agree that a vitamin supplement is a good idea. Get a LOT of sleep - that's when you do most of your growing. As for exercise, avoid heavy weight training and focus instead on active sports - running, skiing, rollerblading, calesthenics, martial arts.

You sound very intelligent, so I probably don't need to tell you this, but avoid alcohol, cigarettes, pot and caffeine (if you can survive high school without coffee.) None of these are good for growth.

And don't worry too much about how high you get - it mostly depends on your genes, so you don't have a lot of control over this. But I was a fashion model, 5'9" tall, when I married my first husband who was 5'3". Height is just not that important unless you let it become an issue in your own mind.

Try not to worry about it. Easier said than done. I continued to grow until I was 20, so don't worry, you'll catch up. You're only 16, so maybe you still have some growing to do. Yes, height is genetic, but I'm the shortest person in my family... figure that out... hmm. You should eat your veggies, take your vitamins, exercise and get rest. My mom always told me you only grew when you were sleeping. I'm not sure how true that was. Maybe it was just a ploy to try to get me to go to bed. Hmm... Take care of yourself and hopefully that will help.

I don´t think there is a way to enable one to actually grow bigger, become taller. Although eating a balanced diet is probably the best and safest option. Seeing as cells need thier supply of nutrients in order to work properly. Bad diets are a cause of a lot of problems nowadays, not only being fat.

What is more important is to actually "work with what you´ve got"
Being tall and short both have advantages and disadvantages, pick the advantages and go from there.

Who knows maybe you´ll suddenly grow well big and not like it.

Take your vitamans, drink milk and do cardiovascular exercises. It won't work for sure, but your body should get that stuff. If you lift weights, don't do squats because some say its not good for your back, only your muscles.

Lifting weights will cause your bones to become strong. This is good, as it will add weight/bulk.
Eat quality protein, such as whey.
