N-O spells no. Don't' do it. The anaesthesia that puts you to sleep does the same to your baby, only more so because it's just wee little thing.

You CAN... but I would strongly suggest you DON'T. Anaesthetic is a huge risk, and I'm sure you want to do the best for your baby. You are much better to have the teeth pulled with a local (although even that presents some risk). I had a wisdom tooth pulled two years ago (I'm 38) and didn't feel a thing - not only that, but it took the dentist all of 45 seconds to get it out.
If you have a great fear of dentists and that is the reason for the general, then wait until after your baby arrives. It's just not worth the risk - and you would never forgive yourself if the baby was affected or, God forbid, you lost it because of a bad reaction to the drugs.
Baby = more important than extractions. More important than ANYTHING!
(My son is 3 months old and the most precious thing in my life.)

You need to have this done before getting pregnant. Can you wait to get pregnant until after you have them removed? They don't suggest you have dental work like this done during your pregnancy. Having your teeth cleaned is fine and minor work, but not under anestetics. When I was preganant and they needed to do a root canal they wouldn't touch me because I was high risk and I kept going into labor in the dentist chair. They just can't take the risk. Also they say to wait on Xrays too when you are pregnant. Please consider all the risks involved before making any decisions. This is your unboen child you need to protect and think about.

I am guessing you're in England, since you have such a long waiting time till your operation?
I don't know what they do in England, but in the U.S., the use of general anesthesia for wisdom teeth removal is quite rare.
If, however, that's what your doctor decides to do, it won't necessarily hurt your baby. I know a woman who is pregnant and just had to have surgery to have a growth removed from her ovary. This page has more info: http://www.fetal-exposure.org/SURGERY.html

Wisdom teeth is not a life threatening condition. It would be very unlikely that an Anaesthetist would risk an unborn child.Make sure you have a pregnancy test before you go into hospital.

i don't think they would be keep on giving u a general anesthetic if you were pregnant. they avoid giving general anesthetics when u are pregnant, unless there is no other way around it. they would probably reccomend that u either pospone surgery, or offer u a local anethetic. personally, i would pospone. it wouldn't be good for either u or the baby having to go through that kind of pain and distress.

It probably wouldn't be wise. I wouldn't do it for a minor surgery like that while pregnant. I have had my wisdom teeth removed both with and with out anestetic, of course I prefer with, but its not worth the risk.

i wouldn't touch you with a 10 foot pole if you were pregnant and wanting to get wisdom teeth out. it's not a time sensitive procedure most of the time so it could wait 9 months if you had to.

NO. Once you are pregnant you will have to avoid any such risks, even common alopathic medicines for headache are to be avoided. Either get your dental treatment before getting pregnant or you will have to do it after delivery. Any strong medicine can kill or deform the foetus in the womb. Be xtra careful.
