No, the military doesn't pay for shipment of a 2nd car in a PCS move. Even on and overseas move, they only pay for 1 car. If you need it sent to your next duty station, it'll have to come out of your pocket.

Why don't you just drive both cars?? You can drive one and he can drive one. That's what we did and we got reimbursed expenses for both of them. That's the only way I know to do it to get the military to pay. I don't even think in a DITY move, they'll pay for the 2nd car. You'll have to check with transportation. That's where you can get accurate facts from. Call them and find out. They might even be able to make arrangements for you at a cheaper cost if you do have to ship it yourself.

Good luck!!

They will only if it specifically states it on his orders, which is very unlikely in the states unless he a General or Flag Officer.

You can still arrange the shipping through your local Transportation Office, you just have to pay the cost out of pocket.

You can check into doing a DITY Move....then you can haul the extra auto on the back of the Moving Van.

Below are some Links about DITY Moves.

No, they will only ship a POV if you PCS to a duty station OCONUS. You will need to either pay to ship the other vehicle or drive it out there yourself.

Congrats on getting to go to Carson, btw. I'm jealous...

Often you can get someone to drive your vehicle to where you want to go. To find out about this option go to one of the car dealerships in your area and ask who they use for transporting vehicles.
