i would recommand 2. why two ? because see normally it takes 18 months to normalize first delivery. now its true that we need some rest between but in my side we planned it in 2 years we had a few problems for first one year to manage two childrens but now we are happy that whatever we have done we are now completly free and we dont need to do any shooting of any picture. it has been finished along with first.

I like the idea of a 3 year gap... I think then when they are younger they will still enjoy playing together.. though there teens they will probably have nothing to do with each other ( but who wants to hang around with a sibling in high school) then once out of high school I think there is a large enough gap for them to look up to each other and look after each other... that is what I have seen from my friends.. my brother and I are 2 years 3 months apart and we were inseparable then hated each other for 7 years now we talk and talk and talk .. its great..
I think the only way a tiny gap works is if both children are of the same sex...
also I heard that having children very close in ages shortens the mothers life...

I didn't want anymore then 3 years seperation between my kids. I ended up with 3 days shy of 20 months apart between the oldest two, and 2 days shy of 2 years apart with my second and the twins.
I wanted my kids close in age so they grew up together. I know my hubby had older siblings who were teens when he was young, and they didn't connect that well. Whereas he had a sister about a year or so apart from him and they were really close. My brother and I have 3 years apart and we didn't get along well at all. Not until we grew up and had our own kids.

3-4 years.
Your body needs 18 months to recuperate from pregnancy.
Then there is your small child to consider. They start to really talk at about 2 years of age and most children only potty train at 3 years old. I think it would be very rough to have two children on nappies and bottles. At 3-4 years they will understand better and can maybe even help.

My children are 5 years apart, but not by my choice. I wanted them 2 years, but am very happy someone knew better than me to space them farther. My son was able to be the baby as long as he needed to be and when the daughter came, he was in school so I had my days with her. My sisters children are 17 months and she was a great mom to 2 babies, I do not think I would have been as good a mom to 2 babies. So it all works out.

About 3 years. This will give the mother enough time to recuperate after the earlier birth. To have healthy children it is advisable that the mother is solid physically and mentally.
