Yes, I also have FM and I do truly sympathise with you, it is a beastly disease. For several years the doctors more or less implied It was all in my head, but eventually my GP said I had Fybromyalgia. Fortunately it's now more widely recognised and listed as a disease by W.H.O. There are still many sceptics though, to whom I would say, 'If you or a loved one have never suffered from this, you're not qualified to comment'. I am told that recovery is possible, but have never met an ex-victim, and after ten years of gradual deterioration, have my doubts.
Medication? Painkillers, anti-inflammatory drugs - I took so many that I developed a stomach ulcer; there is no specific for FM. Sorry if you find this depressing, but that's the way it is. I could go on, but my fingers hurt from typing!
Wishing you well
Best regards.

well I'm not sure if i have arthritis but doctor wants me to have a test for it next visit, but i certainly know about fibromalgia I've had it for a few years now and also "ME" (chronic fatigue) for around 8 years and I'm not sure which of the two causes my extreme pain all i know is burning muscles aches and pains and extreme tiredness especially after exercise is no picnic, i don't know if tingling in my fingers is fibromalgia or the ME I think the burning ache is fibromalgia doctors cant give anything for it except a low dose antidepressent which is supposed to alleviate the symptoms and its a matter of rest with little to no physical excercise.

It is a type of arthritis itself, affecting the soft tissue, (tendons, ligaments etc) and causing chronic fatigue. You don't say what kind of arthritis you have in the first place or how badly you are affected but the best way to help yourself deal with it is to do as much excercise as you can swimming and aquaaerobics are probably the best as they are non weight bearing and obviously carrying too much weight does not help as I know only too well.
I have had it over thirty years but it wasn't called that then!

My mother had fibromyalgia and it took ages for a diagnosis as there are no clinical symptoms. There is a Fibromyalgia Support Group ( look on net) which will give you advice etc. The best way of dealing with it seems to be a healthy diet, regular gentle excersize, lots of rest, reduce stress and try and find things to do that make you laugh as laughter provides natural pain relief. There has been a link with ME - so look on sites for that as well.
