On RS there is on one hand an overabundance of religion-related questions inspired by- and inspiring-strong negative emotions we humans tend to loathe in normal conditions, such intolerance, prejudice, hate, bigotry etc. On the other hand there is a scarcity of spirituality-related questions transcending religious boundaries, exploring all possibilities and ways to attain inner peace and peace with the world, irrespective of dogmas, religious or otherwise.

As I've learned. Most people have far too much CONVICTION. An unjustifiable faith in their beliefs (that there is a God, or that there isn't). That's because they are parroting. Just repeating what they hear, and they have not taken the time to discover why they are supposed to believe what they believe. Therefore, they feel threatened by anything new.

We are all talking about the same thing, but describing it
differently, and arguing about it!

The bottom line is if you discuss unorthodox spiritual beliefs the religionist zealots will pile in with their threats of hellfire and damnation etc, and they don't stop there because threatening e-mails are another one of their favourites . I have beliefs I would like to raise but I wouldn't welcome the inevitable hostile response so I don't bother asking about them.
