You're missing the obvious. How do clerics make money? By ripping off the gullible. They have an incentive to create "miracles" and cash in so that in itself points the finger of suspicion at the clerics who were custodians of the body. I daresay there are ways and means of preserving bodies.

Is it encased in an air tight seal?......well there ya go, it's not a miracle, it is a man made object that is keeping the body preserved.
