There are many books out there that you can easily get, just go to a Christian Book store and browse to your hearts content, or go on line and do the same.
Personally I would encourage you not to do that, because what man knows and understand the Bible any better than any other. God has given three simple Bible study methods in the Bible itself that you can follow, and it has a guarantee from God that you will get the truth:

1. Ask God for wisdom - James 1:5 "...if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives to all men generously and without reproach and IT WILL BE GIVEN TO HIM." James 1:5

2. Be willing to do God's will whatever it is. John 7:17 "If anyone is willing to do His will, HE WILL KNOW of the teaching..."

3.Stay in the Bible John 8:32 "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. AND YOU SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH, and the truth shall make you free."

Just start to study the Bible on your own and ask God for wisdom. As He shows it to you apply it to your life, and stay in the Bible, don't get into the writings of men or you will be dealing with thousands of opinions. The Bible teaches that the real teacher of the Bible is the Holy Spirit, so let Him teach you. You will go wrong if you break any one of the three principles God gives us, but if you stick to them you have God's guarantee of knowing the truth.

This may be more than your question asked but I hope it's useful.

When I do my Bible study I use: The New Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible and The New Strong's Expanded Dictionary of Bible Words. Both books have been very helpful. They take the English words back to the Hebrew or the Greek languages which I find gives better understanding.

I also begin my study with prayer for understanding, I ask God to open my eyes, make my mind alert and my heart receptive to His truths; to have His Spirit lead, guide and direct me; in Jesus name.

When studying a chapter I study verse by verse always keeping the subject in mind.

I've never read Wild at Heart by John Eldegre but if what John Eldegre has written can be documented in God's Word, then it's all good!

What you need is a good one-volume Bible commentary. I would recommend the "New Bible Commentary" published by Eerdmans. Also, the NIV Study Bible has notes on the confusing passages. If you are more interested in getting deeper into a subject as it occurs throughout the Bible, I would say "Systematic Theology" by Wayne Grudem.

A FREE option is to go to Bible.org. The NET Bible has over 60,000 notes written by the translators that will help you understand what some of the passages mean, and why they translated them that way from the Greek and Hebrew.

FAQ: What books are in the Word and what are apocrypha?

"The books of the Word are all those which have the internal sense; but those books which have not the internal sense, are not the Word. The books of the Word, in the Old Testament, are the five Books of Moses, the Book of Joshua, the Book of Judges, the two Books of Samuel, the two Books of Kings, the Psalms of David, the Prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi: and in the New Testament, the four Evangelists, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John; and the Apocalypse. The rest have not the internal sense" (Arcana Coelestia n. 10325 or Heavenly Doctrine n. 266).

FAQ: Why different testaments and books in the Word?

"As regards the Word particularly, it has existed in every age, though not the Word we possess at the present day. Another Word existed in the Most Ancient Church before the Flood, and yet another Word in the Ancient Church after the Flood. Then came the Word written through Moses and the Prophets in the Jewish Church, and finally the Word written through the Evangelists in the new Church. The reason why the Word has existed in every age is that by means of the Word there is a communication between heaven and earth, and also that the Word deals with goodness and truth, by which a person is enabled to live in eternal happiness. In the internal sense therefore the Lord alone is the subject, for all goodness and truth are derived from Him" (Arcana Coelestia n. 2895).

I believe He is soon to seal the 144000. When they are sealed, they will go to the world with a message to get prepared for the coming of the Lord. I think when Jesus stands, and the 4 angles let loose of the winds, that the plagues start to fall. People will be polarized into two groups. One group is keeping the commandments of God (which I believe the people who come out of Babylon will be preparing and keeping all of God's commandments) and the other is on the wide road. Two church's in the end. So that means with all the different churches out there, all put one will be keeping all ten commandments and have the spirit of prophecy. All will be compelled to worship. The question is whom do we obey? Revelation is not taught in most churches. They say no one can really understand it. Wrong. the 3rd verse is a blessing on those who readeth and hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written therein. Revelation is to be studied.

Got a couple of things online for ya so you don't have to wait for snail mail. A warning: The first one, when I searched it out, was said to be "on the lunatic fringe." (Sounded just right for a "wild at heart" guy! -- no, haven't read the Eldegre book yet!) The second is a place where you can ask questions and a real human gives you personal answers. "Good luck," bro. Read away, talk on!

Fasting while praying
Than keep read what you know
But the one book that may help is "praying the scriptures"
Hold on to this in all things
1 John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Take this it even have greek and hebrew bibles

Walk by faith
Don't let someone else tell you what your reading other than the holy spirit!

this is why you guys dont know much about your own religion ... you are reading a preacher's book or website, instead of the bible.

i'm not a "believer" ...yet i have 26 different translations of the bible from the latin vulgate on up to the newest NIV and king james ...along with many of the non-canon books.i read them MYSELF... i dont let someone else tell me what i'm reading
