First of all you should have a shotgun certificate and permision for the land ocupiar, If you dont have a certificate then you should be acompanied and supervised by some one who has, and is over the age of 21. When shooting on footpaths( which is alowed) you must be constantley awear of othere users as well as livestock, never shoot ground game on a footpath unless you are certan its safe too. Should you come accros a walker or anyone using the footpath then brake your gun and remove the cartridges (your gun should always be broke when walking on a footpath). As for a road ,the law states you must be 50yards from the center of the highway .When crossing a fence of style, remove the cartridges and pass the gun to any1 accompanying you or place the gun in a safe place till you can safley tackle the obstical. Always be weary and alert to things, never shoot where you can not see and above all respect the tole in your hands one stupid mistake can cost you alot.

If you get the chance, log on to your local constabularys website and start a search on firarms , all the laws, regulations, and codes of conduct/good practice will be listed. good shooting

assuming you have a shot gun licence and the permission of the owner of the land, you have to take all reasonable precautions to ensure that when you discharge your weapon you do not endanger any other life (except what you are lawfully shooting at!). You are expected to use your common sense - which you will need plenty of if you are carrying a loaded weapon and not pose a risk to anyong else. If you are going to discharge your weapon and the shot might cross a public footpath or highway make sure there isn't anybody travelling along it before you shoot. Also, if you are shooting into a neighbouring field and there are other animals in the field such as sheep or cows then you have to make sure you don't hit any of them or cause them undo stress. Finally, make sure you are close enough to what you are trying to kill to effect a clean kill to limit its suffering and also that you are not endangering the life of any other creature in close proximity to it. Does that help? I used to be a game keeper in Cornwall.

depending what state you live in the laws are different go to wall-mart or k-mart and get the abstract book in the sporting goods dept, usually you need to be 500ft from a paved road or dwelling. Foot trails and logging roads are usually exempt from this rule

In Britain you must be 50 feet away from a highway. And you can shoot closer if it causes no disturbance to road users.

You're living in a dreamworld seashell. Move to Chicago or Detroit and preach. See how quickly you'll want a gun.

Contact your local police station and have their firearm officer come out to inspect your land.

Surely you can find a sport that doesnt involve killing things ,i have never understood the mentality of people who get there kicks out of killing for fun. Whats wrong with target shooting ,or clay pigeon shooting ,or is there no fun if there isnt a death at the end of it.

It depends on what state you are in they are all different, But in all states at the local sportinggoods store they will have a booklet on your local hunting regulations. I would start there.
