I'm surprised at the people who think Pantheism is worship of creation. I'm betting these people worship Jesus - who was human, a creation, born of a woman. Kind of hard to be pointing fingers about that one.... *wink*

But, as I know Pantheism, it is the idea that ALL life is divine (this does not mean one worships the creation). This shows that all life is connected (even science will back this up.... we share a lot of things with EVERYTHING on this planet... including plants and minerals, etc). In order for it to be alive, it would have to have that divine spark in it. (The Bible backs this up as well - God breathed life into Adam and he became a living soul) Ephasians (spelling?) also shows that animals have the same kind of soul as humans do because it all came from God.

Me personally, this defines my personal belief in a general sense. I do believe all life is connected and it is all "divine" in the sense that it is all created by the divine, the spark of life comes from the divine. To say it is anything else means there's something else out there creating and would be equal to what you consider is "The Creator". Now, seeing all life as sacred, doesn't mean I'm worshipping creation... it means I have a healthy respect for it. I don't take advantage of it, or try to get more out of it than what I need.

I really wish people would ask a Pantheist what it means, rather than relying on a general definition that they can assume what they want of it.

As a Christian, Pantheism seems strange to me based on one point: You're worshiping the creation alongside the Creator. Then again, I don't agree that the Creator God dwells inside creation other than for His Spirit who dwells in the hearts of His faithful followers. This does NOT make His followers eligible to receive worship, however.

People say "pantheism" and I hear "Romantic poets". Which isn't a bad thing at all. I find it a lovely and enlightening philosophy.

It is the worship of the creation rather than the Creator.
