Don't take them seriously. People can be such @$$holes. I was once shouted at for wearing a peace symbol because they guy said it looked like and upside-down cross, a sure sign I have a 666 birthmark on me :)
Wicca isn't evil at all, it just isn't as widely spread and accepted as Christianity.

I don't see it as ruining our Wiccan label. Because we are not doing anything. It's similar to if someone came up to me and said *You're wearing Guess Jeans... you must be a murderer* (basically, that IS what they are saying). In the end, they are the one's getting ruined... they end up looking like hateful liars... because there is Nothing that backs this up. Just because someone wears a pentacle does not make one a devil-worshipper. Religious propaganda seems to be the hardest to get rid of. We have a better time wiping the Political BS clean than we do with this. But, as I said, They are the ones who will eventually ruin themselves. If you spread lies about a group of people for long enough, someone is going to ask for proof........ And they won't have any outside of the rumors people LOVE to spread.

So, when this does happen to me, I point blank ask "Where's the proof?" And then tell them about the book Hammer of the Witches (I can't spell the name of that book, I'll screw it up for sure). Once you read that book, then you'll understand where all of those ideas comes from. 2 Roman Catholic Priests and a couple of Popes that backed up the idea of killing people based on crap they made up to begin with.

I would feel hurt, upset and indignant. I am a Spiritualist and I get those who tell me the Bible says I am the devil and I should leave spirits alone! Spirits contact me not the other way round. I can understand how you feel as I believe Wiccan is a good way of life the same as Spiritualism. So much good can come out of both of our beliefs and this is what upsets me - that people don't see what good people we are, that we don't have bad thoughts but want to help others and our beliefs are only for the good of others too. It is easy for me to say take no notice of those who laugh at you, but if you can send them a loving thought (I send them spiritual healing too) you would be surprised how this affects them and turns them around. I get upset by those on this site who ridicule my way of life and I expect you do too. Love and happiness to you x

I've never had anyone laugh at me or call me a devil worshipper for wearing mine and let me tell you mine isn't subtle! In fact where i live there is a girl who works in our local gift shop who is incredibly jealous of it! she points it out each time i go in there!

But yes i do hate it when people assume the worse. they often ignore my pentacle and then freak out when i say the words wicca or white witch.

doesn't matter what you do tho. some people are just ignorant and intollerant. i just get by as best i can!

Bright Blessings!

It's funny...the subject of the pentacle came up at work the other night, and my co-workers at the time, both younger folk (18 and 19, I think) both automatically associated it with Wicca and were actually surprised to hear it had ever been associated with "devil worship".

The tides, they are a-changing...

Why should feel uncomfortable if you comfortable with it...
Ignore them...
Jealous people or envy ones always try to find the weakness of others...

Either poke fun at something they wear, or rise above it and ignore the pea-brained imbecile.
