We have been very close for ages now and he wont admit his feelings, he hints and flirts, and sometimes makes comments that have two meanings, but he has never actually come out with how he feels about me. i on the other hand have managed to turn this in to an obsession!! we havent spoke in the last two weeks and i'm worried about what may be going through his mind. After a lot of thinking i have decided to talk to him and say something along the lines of 'you either do or you dont please let me know' cos hes all i can think about now and i really dont want him to rule my life this way. I'm hoping i can get an answer from him so that i can try put an end to all this................what shall i do?????

If you have been persistent and obvious and he has not returned those affections that is a huge sign. If he has taken the initiative and not wanted to talk he is showing you he needs some space.
The worst thing you can do right now is hold on to him too tight, be possesive. Go about your life, be happy and confident, get out and let him see that world did not stop. Seeing you out and enjoying time with others will make him see what he is missing.
Everyone likes a challenge. Be that challenge for now. Let him come to you. Let him wonder what you are thinking for a change.
If he needs some space from you and you keep pushing him you could lose his compant forever. Keep your mind busy and just concentrate on yourself, not him.
Once you start talking again, sit down with him and explain to him how important your friendship is. You should be able to tell from his reaction how he feels. If it is positive, then go ahead and tell him how you feel.

do exactly what you planned to do ask him straight out its the only way to get an answer then you'll no for sure and you can both move on in to the future either as a couple or a friends

Well i wish i could say the same... I like this girl to death.. thought she liked me back.. ended up she didnt.. i did tell her how i felt.. a few times at that... and I got hurt.. but by all means.. you have to tell him.

both of you are sensitive and fragile,which isn't a bad thing at all at it won't hurt to bring in some honesty.
if you have the courage,be honest with him.say what you want,don't be scared.

sit him down --- talk to him --- tell him you are worried and get him to open up --- tell him it will make you closer and deepen your love
