how do i set up my second phone line to work in my room?

there is a second socket in the room but it does not work what do i need to do to get it to work pls help want to move my computer there

you can buy wireless phone connections to make a jack from any plug in, I would suggest looking into it, it is only about 40 bucks or less I believe.

you will have to figure out which line you want to have active on that jack.

It you have 2 basic telephone lines, line one is on pins 4&5 of the jack and line two is on 3&6.

A cheap and easy fix is to buy a splitter usually a few bucks. I dont like to recomend that becuase people do it at work all the time and it plays havoc with or telephone records of what phone lines are were. But inside residents i dont really care.

Or you can have a local guy come out and wire it up to work, way cheaper than your local phone company at least 50-60 dollars cheaper. Your phone comapny will do it but expect to pay around a $100's for them just to come out.
