People do not believe in God as there is no proof, THEY SAY, of the existance of God.
Perhaps they are blind.
Who could have imagined mobile phones 50 years years ago?
Today we talk about computers that will have the human personality.
All this is due to the grace of God.
Science is just a means.

Einstien also says
“As to science, we may well define it for our purpose as "methodical thinking directed toward finding regulative connections between our sensual experiences."
Religion is concerned with man's attitude toward nature at large, with the establishing of ideals for the individual and communal life, and with mutual human relationship.

EMMA C and all others,
My aim of mentioning mobile phones was that if God has not blessed us with the faculties we could not imagine, invent, manufacture and cope with the technology of something like the mobile phone.

“When the Greeks wondered about the shape of the Earth”
God gave them the faculty to wonder.
“the application of human intelligence resulting from natural selection”
God could have wiped out the ‘natural selection’ process with an asteroid or two, like was done with the dinosaures.

science is indeed a mean of developing ourselves and making our lives easier
God was the one who gave us the gift of thinking and inventing, but still some people sadly still don't believe in that...

Nice fallacious argument there.
People couldn't prove the world is round, but it was.
So if people can't prove God exists, therefore he does.
By extension, since we can't prove that the planet Pluto doesn't have a core made up of back issues of the Radio Times, therefore it does.
Not everything that exists can be proved. But not everything that can't be proved exists.
The difference is that there is no evidence for the existence of God, even though mankind has been looking for it from the dawn of time. When the Greeks wondered about the shape of the Earth they did a few simple experiments and came up with the right answer. There is still not a shred of reliable evidence for the God myth.
Science may be "just" a means - but at least it is a means, unlike religion. Pray to any deity you like to increase the yield on your crops - it will have no difference. Ask science, and it will tell you to add fertiliser. No grace required - just the application of human intelligence resulting from natural selection.

I know it is a rhetorical question, but....
It was round. It has always been round, no matter what humans "thought" it was. Truth is Truth! Just like God exists and is very real! Even though some do not "believe" he exists, doesn't change the fact that he does exist. Someday, at the day of judgment they will find out the Truth and I sincerely hope that they trust in Jesus before they die!

There's no evidence for a god, let alone proof.
Your reasoning is way off. The world has always been round, at least as long as human beings existed. It doesn't matter how many people believed it to be another shape. The same thing is true with religious beliefs: there is no god, or devil, or heaven or hell, or souls. It doesn't matter one whit how many of you believe in those things. They're simply not true.
Today mobile phones exist. I can find plenty of evidence of their existence. Computers with fully human personalities do not exist. I can find no evidence of their existence. If I'm wrong, and they do exist, someone will show me evidence of their existence. If god really existed, wouldn't you think there'd be evidence of that? But there isn't. Case closed.

In the Bible it was called disk shaped in one place and a sort of island in another. It was described as having four corners.
That's true that people have no real evidence of any god and only say there is one.
There were some futuristic movies in the 50's with phones in vehicles.
And people talked about computers with human personality 50 years ago.
None of it was due to any god.
Science is the best means we know of to figure out the truth.

Flat I think, until Columbus strove to prove that it was in fact round and not the centre of the universe.
But then he was nearly killed by God followers as he dared challenge the status quo that they had enjoyed for so many years and were living the life of luxury and debauchery in their private quarters whilst the uneducated were browbeaten into supporting them.

When people could not prove that the Earth was round - they assumed that it was flat...! Jesus knew better even then, of course, and we know better now - which is just one more example of how science can only attempt to narrow that unbridgable gap in knowledge between God and Mankind...
Try as we might - FAITH ALONE - IN CHRIST - can close that gap.

dear nick
when you get to heaven or hell you will finf that they are flat
in a spiritual book you learn about the things of spirit
if there is anywhere inthe bible where you read the earth is flat please explain it to me where it is
i havnt found it in the word
it is a belief people had that was not based on the book but based on scientific OPINION at the time
science still persists in blaming a book for its own mistaken delusions even today
science was a scam then as it mostly is today.
peer revieuw bro per presure thats science
trust man or trust god
science cant even create the simplest life yet has people fooled as it always has ,science at best can only study that god did and does ,it can extract eliments from matter but cant even make its own dusts

The earliest is a flat rectangle, then a flat circle, then a sphere and now an obloit spheroid (because the sphere is flat at the top and bottom).....
By the way a couple of Prophet's predicted the concept of the phone. But I think you already know that ;-)
One phrase I really like is by Einstein: "Religion, without science, is blind and science, without religion, is nothing." Could be the other way round..... oops I forgot

It's interesting that arab scholars knew the earth was round and even calculated it's diameter before the bible was written. As usual, christians suppressed this information because it did not come from a christian source.
Are you saying god made computers and mobile phones? It was man's ingenuity that has created these miracles of science
