Alloy wheels are usually made from aluminum alloy, though some expensive ones are also of carbon-fibre make.
They are lighter than standard spoked rims but are also more succeptable to damage, especially when subjected to uneven surfaces.
So if u wanna install them, make sure u stay away from aff roading.
A common myth associated is that they increase mileage due to reduction in unsprung mass, but in real terms, its too small a difference to be noticeable.
So if u wanna get em, make sure ur choosing only for the sake of looks, cuz in that aspect, it really increases the vehicle's bling value.
But plz don't go for one of those shiny chromed ones, they look outright cheap and simply dont suit with th bike's looks

keeps your disc brakes cool. They are also lighter than stamped wheels. Also makes your car look smarter. They are expensive because the mag-alloy material is expensive and the manufacturing process is difficult.
They are now working on new materials for regular wheels so that they can be designed and manufactured to look cool like the alloy wheels. There's been one feeble attempt on the Mahindra scorpio a couple of years ago but those wheels are no longer available.

Alloys reduce the unsprung weight and are cool looking,a lttle more mileage. Reducing the unsprung weight means more comfort and better handling. But mind you go for branded ones.
