you can; the only reason some say to wait is because your hair is so unpredictable during pregnancy that you can't quite be sure how it will come out! Just make sure you are in a well ventilated room, especially if you are using a blonde dye.

Hi
I'am a hairdresser you can colour, dye,Perm and Bleach your hair when your pregnant.
I would say you are taking a chance when it comes to colour as your hormones can affect your hair so your hair may turn out to be a shade or 2 darker or lighter than you want it but it is safe, all the new hair dyes on the market dont hold harsh chemicals like they use to and its not absorbed into the blood line so your answer is your fine.

No you can not dye your hair when you are pregnant. Anything you eat or drink comes back in the form of your milk. The same happens with hair dye. My firend had a baby boy, he was about a month or two and she decided to dye her hair red. The following day when she was expressing milk she noticed that the milk had a pinkish color. This was after she died her hair. Remember anything you do with your body while you are pregnant or after you had your baby affects you and your baby.

Redken Celebrity Hair magazine in a section called something like The 10 most FAQ about colouring that according to medical opinion, it is safe to dye your hair at any stage in pregnancy. The only thing is that sometimes the pregnancy hormones can make your skin more sensitive, so they recommended a patch test first, even if it is your usual hair day.

Its not advised because with the hormones in your body the colour may not take as good and with a perm it may drop out after a week or 2 thats the only reason its not advised i dyed my hair with all my pregnancies and with my 1st had a perm it stayed in for about 3 weeks lol!!! i tended to use products with no ammonia in for dyes they work just as well good luck with the baby and hair!!!

You are advised not too because of the ammonia in the dye. Your hair also changes when you are pregnant so any colours or even products may not take as they normally do and it could go seriously wrong!!!

It is ok as far as the baby is concerned but your hormones might affect the outcome. A good hairdresser would know what can be done, I wouldn't try any home colouring if I were you. After all, you deserve a little pamering so go to a good hair salon and let them pamper you.

I wouldn't.
For the reason that babies already have enough chemicals in their bodies when they are born.

"Babies in the womb are being contaminated with hazardous non-stick chemicals, flame-retardants, perfumes and other gender-bending chemicals, a new report by WWF-UK and Greenpeace has found.
Tests on blood taken from the umbilical cords of nearly 30 new-born babies and from more than 40 new mothers were analysed for the presence of eight groups of chemicals, ranging from artificial musks used in cosmetics and cleaning products to flame retardants and chemicals used to make plastics and non stick and water-proof coatings.

The report 'A Present for Life: hazardous chemicals in cord blood' highlights the fact that babies are being exposed to these chemicals at the most vulnerable point in their development, and the need for urgent action to be taken to control the production and sale of those chemicals that may damage the health of babies and adults alike."

"In a study spearheaded by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) in collaboration with Commonweal, researchers at two major laboratories found an average of 200 industrial chemicals and pollutants in umbilical cord blood from 10 babies born in August and September of 2004 in U.S. hospitals. Tests revealed a total of 287 chemicals in the group. The umbilical cord blood of these 10 children, collected by Red Cross after the cord was cut, harbored pesticides, consumer product ingredients, and wastes from burning coal, gasoline, and garbage."

With my first pregnancy - I waited until the 2nd trimester. With my second... I didn't wait. I have two perfectly healthy kiddos.

However - keep in mind that your hair changes during your pregnancy. The color you've always used might turn out slightly different than what you're used to.

Congratulations - and best wishes for a happy & healthy pregnancy.
