Yes but as a Christian you have power over all the authority of the enemy.

Luke10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Philippians 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

Ephesians 1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

As a Christian you have the name of Jesus. Therefore you have authority over every act(including curses) of the enemy.

Yes, a Satanist can cast spells; but if you are a Christian you don't need to worry about having a spell cast on you. The Bible says, "no weapon formed against you shall prosper." The Bible says, "greater is He (the Holy Spirit) who is in you than he (satan) who is in the world' (1st John 4:4).
Don't ever doubt that God is far, far stronger than Satan. Satan's power is limited; God's power is limitless. Satan's power is temporary; God's power is eternal. Satan's power is entirely evil; God's power is entirely good.

Furthermore, Satan is part of the creation—but God is the Creator. In fact, the Bible repeatedly calls God the "Sovereign Lord"—because that is what He is. It says, "Sovereign Lord ... you made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything in them" (Acts 4:24). Satan didn't make the world; God did—and God is still in control of it, because He is sovereign.

Yes, Satan has a certain measure of power, and we often see his power at work today. How else can we explain some of the terrible things that happen? Never forget that Satan has one goal: to block God's work wherever he can. To do this he will use every trick he can to deceive us and turn us away from Christ.

But someday Christ will return and destroy the devil's work. Satan is a defeated foe! Until that day, make it your goal to follow Christ. The Bible says, "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour" (1 Peter 5:8). Don't become his next victim!
I would love to talk to you about this some more. If you want to contact me, feel free to do so.

Friend, If you are a TRUE CHRISTIAN, don't worry about any spells, Yes it is true that demons is in control of these people that try to cast a spell on someone, AS a Christian we can command a demonic spirit to leave someone in the Name Of Jesus Christ, But if we are TRUE CHRISTIANS with The holy Ghost, the Bible says Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. I have had people try to cast evil spells on me, It did not work, Because I rebuked them In Jesus Christ name, Now those people are dead & gone & I am still here.

Many today view witchcraft as a harmless nature religion
WhoA basic question in the quest for spiritual understanding is this, Who inhabit the spirit realm? While most modern witches are followers of a nature-oriented, polytheistic faith, some worship a great mother-goddess, viewed in a triple role of maiden, mother, and crone, representing the basic stages of life. Her lover is a god with horns. Other witches worship a god and goddess together. One writer says: "The Goddess and God are seen as a manifestation of the feminine and masculine forces of nature. Each [having] unique characteristics that when combined Dwell in the Spirit Realm
The terms 'Imp', 'Evil Spirit' and 'Demon' are fairly accurate. They are very strong. . . . The most intelligent variety . . . are capable (if someone is helpful enough to open a doorway for them) of entering our world. . . . They can enter your body . . . , even asserting a degree of control over you. Yes, this is exactly like the old stories of Demon possession."
Jehovah warns people to stay away from witchcraft and other occult practices.
Many are drawn to witchcraft today because it seems to be a harmless, benign, nature religion. In some communities it has become accepted. It is not feared. Rather, it has often become trivialized. In a climate where religious tolerance leads many to embrace even the bizarre, witchcraft has gained considerable respectability.
the world of religions has become a marketplace from which people are free to choose one that fits their needs, much as one would buy a pair of shoes. In contrast, Jesus spoke of only two choices. He said: "Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction,
and many are the ones going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, ." (Matthew 7:13, 14)
To achieve spiritual enlightenment, we must pursue the way of truth—the way that is found only in God's Word, the Bible.

Christians have dominion over demons and Satan and the occult.
However, one can allow himself not to have dominion. When Jesus had cast the legion out of a possessed man, the demons had to obey. Thats all I can say for now and I really hope I helped.

it says that one should not suffer a witch to live.....

We're talking old testament.... That was because those people were supposed to be a pure people before God....

this was also before Christ's coming....

The New Testament was a new covenant with the world... Not just a certain people, but for the whole world....

The sacrifice which Christ made allowed people to have the opportunity to be saved because of his sacrifice....

But, it is also written, that if people continue in their "ways", they shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

The kingdom of God is life......
