You guys can trash me all you want, I disagree with the Stats that squall has told me. It does not matter what race you are serving over there, as I said my brothers are there and there is not a night I do not say prayer for all the soldiers, Its not right to make it sound like more then half of one race is over there fighting, to me that dis credits everyone else thats there. So yes, I take to heart. Sue me, I just wanted to find the true stats on it, I've e-mailed this guy and will continue to do so with these answers. Sorry if this question has offended but it was pertaining to something I was offended by. I will agree that most of military recruits are low income people. This is a shame, most of brothers there joined largely on part to get college money when they get home, if they get home. My prayers with ALL soldiers, just dont discredit others with false facts.

I can give you the exact demographic breakdown of casualties by race/ethnicity. From that, you should be able to decide if it's possible to have 50% or more are Mexican/Hispanic.

Number of casualties:
1,995 White
308 Hispanic
266 Black
47 Asian
57 Other
33 Unknown

(NO, 50% of our troops in Iraq and elsewhere are NOT Hispanic. They are a huge part of our fighting force and an important part of it, but not half or more.)

Yes and no. Why are actual Mexican, yes the country of Mexico did have armed forces, military participation of D-Day in 6 June 1944 and the Mexican-Americans not acknowledge in US of A history books. If money is an issue regarding illegal immigration then why spend over 200 billion US dollars in a war that was not declared a war by the US Congress and considering they had NO plans. Vietnam was a conflict that Democrats had no effective plan so I am bashing the Democrats and Republicans. Both parties are to blame.

I believe he's overstating the fact. Many troops fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan are Latinos. Many have died. I'd put the number at 15%.
It's akin to those who claim more Black soldiers were killed in Vietnam proportionately than othe races when in fact the casualty rate for Black soldiers was nearly exactly their percentage of the overall US population.
Black, Hispanic, Asian or White, many thanks to all the soldiers, sailors, airforce personel and marines who are serving.

I don't think you can join the military if you are not a citizen, I wouldn't think you would be able to anyway.

Now there may be a high number of hispanics in the armed forces, but I'm not sure about 50% - that seems a bit high.

Man, you're such a little hater, aren't you? But it's true, the government is offering illegals the opportunity to join the armed forces as an easy way of getting their papers. So basically what they are doing is trying to kill them off before they have to make them legal residents.

No, I don't believe it. The military is predominantly white, not Hispanic or black. There ARE quite a few minorities in the military, but their numbers are STILL lower than the Caucasians that serve.

maybe trying to say that half the forces are hispanic. would tend to doubt that, but they are overrepresented as a percent of population, as are blacks, because the military is a good option for minorities to succeed.

Hey, remeber that we don't have any time to fight over if some body is fighting for a country or not. What, is it for tax dollars people fight over, well that is just whack.

I'd say Squall o Kittyheart is talking out of his or her butt. I've been in Iraq and am currently in Afghanistan and his stats are way off.
