Make sure you have Microsoft Printer and file sharing protocol installed you will find that info from your network connections..On the network adapter by click properties.. if you have windows XP it should already be installed... And then go create a Directory or folder name it whatever you like and then right click to go to properties. Then Click on the Tab Sharing. Then check Share this folder on the network. and give it a share name.. and if you want to control this folder from the other pc like Delete or modify or add files check Allow Network users to change my files.. You might be ask to run the file and printer sharing wizard just tell it to enable file sharing.. And copy your document to the folder you created and you will be able to access it from the other pc. You can even transfer huge files this way without using Cd-r DVD-r or floppies.

Right click with mouse on the folder where file is stored. Than left click on tab "SHARING". In the box named "Network sharing and security" check box "Share this folder on the network". When you check this box, the next check box will be open and if you want to allow to other network users to change your files, you have to check box "Allow network users to change my files".
At the end, you have to confirm these settings on "Apply" button on the bottom of window.
