I have yet to see Proof that He does not

2006-10-29 21:05:34 · answer #1 · answered by snuggels102 6 · 2 2

In the 'newage' the word or the term 'proof' has 'possessed' us; when to prove means only one activity: to gather facts from the lab. Outside 'science' no proof can or does exist. Whereas, there are many beliefs which can not be 'proved', like your headache, like your 'Mind'. Is the questioner a mindful or mindless person can never be 'proved'. With this state of mind, a question is being put on proving God! Let us first understand the headache about God, in the mind of the Asker... or request the Asker to let the God-believers retain their democratic right of belief, and the freedom of speech to express their belief, lest the democracy-god becomes a hoax... and the human rights a joke...* All that the monotheists ask is a plea to look within or without, and God shall be visible to the mind, with the attestation of the heart.

Because you can't ever prove that he doesn't. Therefore, you'll always have people saying, "Oh, this is a miracle from God - just look at it!" and you'll have other people saying, "Wow... isn't evolution amazing?" And you're never going to get either one to convert simply because it's just not possible to prove one way or another.

To show a Christian that God doesn't exist, you would need to determine what God is, exactly, and then show that what God is - isn't.

To show an Atheist that God does exist, you would need to determine what God is, exactly, and then show them that what God is - is.

People look at God as a Sun, Moon, All life, Omnipotent, Polynipotent (can't recall the word), as Nature, as humanity... the list goes on and that is really why you can't prove or disprove it to settle the disagreement. No one person can tell you exactly what God is and have that be exactly what everyone else thinks too.

I guess it has a lot to do with the fact that it cannot be proved that he does NOT exist either. Scientifically, the main theory of existence is the "big bang". According to the big bang, the universe was created sometime between 10 billion and 20 billion years ago from a cosmic explosion that hurled matter and in all directions. But what created the matter in the first place? You see people have faith. Faith is the key to religion. They have faith that someone/something was always there. And it cannot be disproved or proved. Faith is that unconditional belief and acceptance of that which cannot be proved exists.

I have lost count of the amount of times I have answered this kind of question...its a time old argument and some people will just never accept it. Part of trusting in someone is having faith yes? If God jumped down and said "hey" faith would be pointless, you wouldn't believe you would know.

At the end of the day there is plenty of proof that God exists....look at the miracles we see around us every single day...the miracles of healing (i realise some people are skeptical but I know its true because it happened to me!!)
the miracles of a baby being born at 24 weeks and surviving and growing up to be perfectly healthy. Things surround us that prove Gods existance.

Look oat the human body for example...its so complex in its workings, that it actually heals itself, you cannot honestly believe that appeared from nowhere?
The very existance of this earth is proof that God is very much alive.

Well you cant prove he doesn't or can you? In fact there's a lot of evidence of intelligent design just take the human brain a remarkable feat of engineering. Michael Behe a Biochemist Wrote a book Darwin's Black Box showing the weakness of Macroevoulutionary theory ( Species to Species) sadly there's those who denounce this out of hand like the oxford professor and antireligous bigot Richard Dawkins who is stuck in the Victorian era when it comes science. Yes there is an element of faith in believing in God but so there is in believing where all an accident of chance. Something inside myself says yes there is a God and a son Jesus but don't believe me go and find out for your self read the scriptures and the findings of all science and take a good look at the Natural world then tell yourself was all this an accident?

Because it makes people feel less lonely and insignificant.

Us monkeys are always trying to be more then what we are so we make up a story about a big God who created us all to make us feel special.

Also the word God has been distorted over the years to mean something outside ourselves. The word God means cosciousness and that is why people sometimes say 'God is within you'. The purpose of your life is just to bring consciousness into form and it is consciousness which created us so therefore 'God' created us.

Over the centuries the dysfunctional, crazy mass ego of humans has given God an external idenity, as a perfect being outside of ourselves.

I felt God's presence, one day out of the blue, and got instantly healed of depression without anyone praying over me. That's the only reason why I believe. I know many people have not had a true meeting with Jesus but it may happen one day to you too, and only then can you state that you have 'proof' of his existence. I don't consider my faith to be 'blind' in other words.

What do you need for proof? Do you need some scientist in some lab writing a report that says "God exists"?

I know He exists because I have felt his presence. I have seen Him answer my prayers. I have seen what He can do in people's lives. I have seen a few of His miracles. All the evidence I would ever need is right in front of me.

But then again, you wouldn't call this "proof", so the argument is pointless.

If we cannot prove any thing it does n't mean that thing does n't exist. for e.g 1000 years back we don't know about planets, glaxies, dinasoars, bacterias, germs, earth plates, creatures in sea, petrol, nuclear energy, ozone layer, .......... but all of us know that they were exist at that time.

Regarding PROOF of God acutally science thru its research now proving that there is a Some thing who have created all the universe. In my opinion science is helping in understanding the God rather denying it for e.g now science is beliving on human soul althoughy they have still to prove it.
