The only way for the Iraqi people to send the US troops home is to decide to live together. Plain and simple. The more you kill each other the longer you will need to be over seen. If the US just pulled out now and Iraq divided itself into smaller countries they would still aways be at war with each other. That is until Iraqs neighbors decided to come in and take over. Do you think for a minutes Iraq would be safe. Iran wouldn't hesitate to get revenge for Iraqs attack and war in the 80s. Turkey has already stated that it wouldn't have a Kurdish nation on it Southern border.

As others have said, the Iraqis need to show that they WANT their country to be better.
Quit turning a blind eye to the insurgents setting down IED's.
Quit walking out in the middle of gunfights, expecting Allah to protect you.
Quit expecting the Americans to do everything FOR you.
Build your own country! Then we can leave, and I'll be very happy. There will be a collective sigh of relief from ALL military spouses (like myself), all over the world.

The US leaders had no intention of leaving Iraq when we invaded, but now most people in the US want out, so we will leave, What is keeping up support for the occupation is the fear that terrorist will take control and use it as a base to attack us. Any stable government in Iraq that wants us to leave will get us out.
