Well she is being kinda true about her feelings. Or it might even be that she is not too sure about how she feels about you and is stalling for a bit of time. Respect her and be her friend whenever she needs one and even when she does not need one. And if she decides to get a boyfriend don't go all hay-wire on her. Be happy and if it does not work out be her support. If she sees just how supportive and loving you are she will think twice about just being friends. Patience my man, after a couple of months you can pose the question again. I am sure that her answer will definitely be different.

Friendship is a stepping stone to romance!
But if a girl says she likes you as a friend then she means it, and if you push her she will think worse of u and will break off her friendship!
For a girl its hard to get a friend as a boy tht is not hitting on you or has a motive,so be happy she is friends with u!
If it is destiny then you two will get together if not just be her friend and see where the road takes the two of you!

Just be friends. Learn all you can about her, lay the foundations for a relationship, and then learn the wonderful truth...... men and women can't be friends. Eventually love/sex always gets in the way. Yeeeeessssssss!!!!! You will be grateful for all those times you were just a friend cos you know her really well, and she knows you. She means what she says. The only way is to continue to be her friend and see if it develops. She probably has her reasons. Maybe you kissed her and she didnt feel anything. Be there for her. But dont pressure her. Time will tell. But my guessing is that you are better off moving on.

Thats a usual stuff from a girl .. I think she likes you .. just try referring another girl in front of her and I am sure that will make her jealous enough to convey what you want her too .. make sure that you just refer the other girl not show much interest in her ;)

if she said that she likes you as a friend thats probably all it is as she has nothing to lose by dating you. its better to have her as a friend then nothing at all. stay friends treat her well you never know her feelings may change when she sees how much you care.
