when ever some foreign body in the form of virus ,bacteria,or otherwise in the form of any pathogen , enters our body and creates infection or inflammation .The natural defence of our body fights it back and in such a fight HEAT is generated .This heat increases the temperature of our body and this is what 's called FEVER .

Fever is an inflammatory response to a change in the body's homeostasis. For ex: the flu or other types of infection. Could be viral or bacterial in nature and it is the body's way of creating a hostile environment to hopefully get rid of the pathogen..
