forgiveness to me, is saying sorry and believing in your heart that the person will forgive you! If not, then you still have that peace in your heart!
:)
EDIT: yes azra, it made me feel more peaceful inside instead of hateful!! thank you

People make mistakes and one can forgive, but some say to forgive and not forget. You ask a simple question, but the answers can be so complex. It is supposed to be so people can just go on with their life, but what and what not is forgive-able depends on the culture. No-one on this planet will agree.
Chequaqua,I have a headache thinking of how to give a reasonable answer.

Well in the Bible it talks that if you forgive others, even your enemies your life will be alot better. And also if you love God and be gracious and do all right, if you do hat and sell all your belongings to the Poor you will get a high position in Heaven. Like in the Bible the man asked Jesus if the man could follow Jesus, Jesus asked him if he followed everything, he did, then Jesus told him to get all his possesions and give it to the poor, the man just walked away in a sad and depressing manner.

I heard this story from a butcher who butchered sheep. He had to give it up because, when he cut the throat of the sheep, the sheep licked the blood of his arms.

not punishing the one who has committed a crime or wrong doing... but instead letting him/her go free both phisically and mentally
