screaming or pleading for the referree to stop it? One fight I can't forget was Boom Boom Mancini vs Livingstone Bramble, I don't know if I've ever seen a cut as bad as the one Ray had, I thought his eye was gonna just drop out, took 70+plus stitches to close that gash. Bramble tore Boom Boom up, at times Ray got in some shots but overall it was 14rds of Bramble doing Boom Boom on Boom Booms face and head. Rematch was lopsided too.

3 replies none having to do with the anatomy of this question, its in "boxing", is this the point where Ashton Kutcher jumps out and says I got "Punked", where are you come out you got me. I'm new but is it an unspoken rule to post political or television drama questions in the "boxing" forum?? If so I'll try to be more obliging next time.

getting some great answers now, panther thanks for the welcome, and robert m thanks for your attempted insult, so nice to see that a non-simpleton is easily drawn to questions he can't answer but only provide insults to, your family should be proud of you, you're setting a great example for the kids of tomorrow

I'm glad that my question was intriquing enough to produce some outstanding answers, misdirected and insult aside, thanks smitty for the positive heads-up, I looked at other questions in the "boxing" forum, I'll share one, it opened my eyes, it referred to a kangaroo and acquiring a title belt, nuff said. But with you, Santana D, Brent, Brad and lizard I see good debates in the future ones that bring out good points we may never have thought about, ty all

The Ray Mercer vs Tommy Morrisin fight had me screaming at the tube. It was kind of like the Rocky movies when everything goes into slow motion and Adrian is screaming "Stop the Fight" and Rocky's trainer yells "Noooooooooooooooooo" as he gets hit one last time. It was indeed the ugliest knock out ever.
Thanks for the good question and memory, now I'll be thinking about Tommy sitting on the stool in the corner after the fight was stopped slipping punches that weren't there.

{ } - I don't remember the names of the two fighters. I was channel surfing a couple of months ago when I stopped at ESPN Friday night fights. A couple of welterweights were going at it, one of them was getting beat pretty good, taking shots to the left side of his head around the ear area. Around the eighth round the fighter taking the beating was against the ropes got hit with a couple of shots in the left ear area. He got a painful look on his face, his left hand went up to his ear and he cringed in pain. The referee took a look at the ear and stopped the fight. The top portion of the ear to just short of his earlobe was detached from his skin. The ear was hanging off. No bleeding either !

i agree with you about mancini/bramble. refs stop fights much quicker now. the ones who made me scream are ones where blatant fouls are ignored. one of the worst was lupe pintor vs wilfredo gomez. gomez had all the physical advantages, yet had to stoop to repeated low blows to win. i believe pintor may have won otherwise, but we'll never know. disgusting. i nearly trashed my living room out of joy when salvador sanchez destroyed gomez... another was marlon starling vs an ecuadorian fighter whose name i have forgotten.(maybe brad, brent, santana or smitty can help me out here; these guys are encyclopedias of boxing knowledge) he was perhaps the dirtiest fighter i ever saw, fouling blatantly every round. finally he "won" by ko when he followed starling halfway to his corner & landed a devastating punch from behind 3 seconds after the bell. made me understand how elvis felt when he shot his tv.--------------update- the fighter from ecuador was tomas molinares, and his 6th round win was rightly, if belatedly changed to a no-decision.one of the most bizzare boxing incidents i ever saw

Manny Pacquiao Vs. Tetsutora Senrima ( 122 LBS. ) May 21, 2001

Prior to invadng America by knocking out the Higly Touted Lehlo Ledwaba,Pacquiao fought a rugged Japanese with a record of 15 wins 2 Losses and 10 KO, in he name of Tetsutora Senrima.

Senrima was never knocked down or stopped prior to this bout, it was a fight of 2 Street Brawlers with Pacquiao Administering a one sided Beating. In the 3rd round of that bout I can see the desperation in the face of the Japanese of keeeping on his feet even though its evident he has nothing to Offer against Pacquiao. Upon seeing that one sided beating. I yelled at the TV STOP the FIGHT! Stop the FIGHT! but Amazingly the Referee didnt seem to hear my Plea but only stops the fight in 5th round when the Japanese Stops Punching on the ropes sagging Ala Catillo/Coralles 1.

I give my Props to that Japanese never giving up and manage to stays on his feet despite of Pacquiao's Best Punches.

The next month Pacquiao storms America when he stopped Ledwaba despite the Underdog.

Yes, when Mike Tyson bit off a part of Evander Holyfield's ear in 1997. They should have never released Tyson from prisonand he should have forever been banished from boxing. He is a complete idiot and moron.

welcome to the boxing forum and thx for a great question. the first one that comes to my mind, was the cooney-norton fight. i thought norton still had enough left to starch cooney and upset the young gun. instead, cooney hit him a shot, he slipped back, and was sitting on the ropes, like catatonic. cooney just went off on him like he was a heavy bag, head shot after head shot, norton's eyes bugged out and he was beyond so-called "queer street." he was totally defenseless and i thought, for sure, cooney would kill him or cause him serious damage until the ref stepped in and finally stopped it. it was norton's worst beating since foreman had dropped him like a brick, several years earlier
