This is when the phrase "Oh, ok honey" comes into play. Just nod and agree...nod and agree. And don't show emotion when the little green men in white coats come to get her...jk.
ok but lets learn a bit shall we....
A fruit: The term fruit has different meanings depending on context. In botany, a fruit is the ripened ovary—together with seeds—of a flowering plant. In many species, the fruit incorporates the ripened ovary and surrounding tissues. Fruits are the means by which flowering plants disseminate seeds. In cuisine, when discussing fruit as food, the term usually refers to just those plant fruits that are sweet and fleshy, examples of which include plum, apple and orange. However, a great many common vegetables, as well as nuts and grains, are the fruit of the plant species they come from.
Many foods are botanically fruit but are treated as vegetables in cooking. These include cucurbits (e.g., squash, pumpkin, and cucumber), tomato, aubergine (eggplant), and sweet pepper and some spices, such as allspice and chillies.
Vegetable: Vegetable is a culinary term. Its definition has no scientific value and is somewhat arbitrary and subjective.
All parts of an herbaceous plant that humans eat whole or in part is generally considered a vegetable, except for culinary fruits and arguably grains, nuts, herbs, and spices. Also, mushrooms are not commonly considered vegetables, because they belong to a different biological kingdom, namely fungi.
Vegetables include leaf vegetables (for example lettuce), stem vegetables (asparagus), root vegetables (carrot), flower vegetables (broccoli), bulbs (garlic) and botanical fruits such as cucumbers, squashes, pumpkins, capsicums, as well as legumes such as green beans, and fleshy, immature seeds such as those of peas or beans.
Since "vegetable" is not a botanical term, there is no contradiction in a plant part being a fruit botanically while still being considered a vegetable (see diagram). See Nix v. Hedden for a United States Supreme Court's ruling on the matter.
In general, vegetables are thought of as being savoury, and not sweet (with some exceptions, such as rhubarb and pumpkin).
Hope this helps. Rule of thumb but has exceptions: If it has seeds...its a fruit. But you have the arguments of tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. In all reality...who cares?!

Doesn't the seeds being on the inside denote if something is a fruit or not? I'm not sure of this and I could be wrong, and usually am but I heard this once when someone was arguing that a tomato was a fruit because of this.. so in that case, perhaps a strawberry is a vegetable? LMAO... I don't effin know
but I hate people who argue without facts to back up their point. You can't just say 'it's true' without having something to back it up. (which is why I gave in to the dude with the tomato argument.. I thought, well it sounds like it could be right at least)
OH.. i just read the previous ladies answer. there you go.. I certainly learned something today and I'll be taking THAT little bit of info to the tomato guy asap.

This is a hard question to answer. She could be obsessed with it rather than losing it but on the other hand she could just be really into finding out what are actually fruits and what are vegetables

She is losing the plot, and obviously likes to argue with you and wind you up. On the plus side, if that's all you guys argue about then it can't be too bad.

If you can't stand her get out of the relationship. She sounds like she is arguing for the sake of arguing. Find someone that listens to what you have to say and maybe a little brighter.

Is she a bit of an attention seeking drama queen?

Sounds like you have an angry person on your hands. It seems she just wants to argue with you no matter what your answer to her is. It maybe that she is miserable with her life and will only be happy if you are just as miserable.
