I assume this means a break up, cos i asked her if that was permanent or not, after she finished her work, and she said she was too confused and couldn't say either way....she wanted to play it by ear. Does that mean it's ok for me to date other girls now, and should i just let her know that i want to permanently break up with her for certain?

She wants a break, so that means you are free to date. If you want to make sure, you can ask if it's Ok to see other people. But she's confused and needs space. Give her all the space she needs and move on.

Normally taking a break in uni means that she wants to sample the other guys and girls! Rather just break up and move on! Make a clean break so that it is clear in both your minds!!!!

I can tell you now that she wants to end the relationship, but shes just keeping you on the side by calling it a "break"... shes at uni, she wants to date other guys and mess around and have fun.. i think you should tell her to be honest and ask her what she really wants instead of leading you on, thinking that the relationship has hope...

give her some time and space, yes it is ok for you to date other girls and no it may not be permenant. she just needs to get her ducks in a row meanwhile you can see if there is someone else out there for you after some time and space she may see that you are the right one for her and while you date others you may gain some perspective and realize she isn't th one you want after all
~good luck

She's not telling you straight out because maybe she wants to spare your feelings or doesn't want to create a scene. But it's over alright. You should tell her that as far as you're concerned, you are both free to date others. That would clear the air for both of you.

It is OK but if you don't feel it, discuss it with her and do according to what U will have concluded on but don't just go away with out her knowing what U feel.
