The basic principle behind the giving gifts is that u show ur care and devotion towards other and your only motto is that the other person feel happy and glad. So in reality u give respect to ur mam and show good results in front of them which made ur mam feel happy and this is also the all time gifts but really if u want to give gift to ur mam u can give hand made greeting to ur mam with a sweet flower.
