The US Army is so desperate so they will not likely ask for a diploma, but if you join the USMC then it will help. The Marines are small so they can and are picky as to who gets the promotion. Also practice mental toughness and discipline in addition to taking martial arts like Krav Maga which is mandatory for the Israeli Self Defense Force.
Do your best to be a better citizen by understanding what etiquette is. A lot military veterans come out the military using a lot of profanity without second thought are the Marines are also included in this.
Most important of all practice the ASVAB since they higher the score the more occupations you will have access to enter.

Well the smaller services (Marines, Air Force) still require a High School Diploma but The Army is (unfortunately)taking recruits with only a GED.
Graduate and then join
Stay in school. think about what you are doing to yourself if you don't. You are setting yourself up to be a part of the lower class in the future. Education is directly related to income.

You can check anything, even recruiters on the internet. Basically if you don't have an high school diploma you'd need a GED to get in. There's too much technology for dummies to get in. You wouldn't want an undereducated dufus in charge of nuclear weapons would you???? Hey now, I know a lot of people don't think Bush is smart, but he did go to Yale.

It all depends on how well you score on your ASVAB. If you get a high enough score I am certain that ALL of the military forces will put one of those handy dandy waivers in for your diploma, as long as you have a GED. With average or just passing scores, you will only get into the Army with a GED.

HS diplomas are preferable. witha GED, you must be 18, score 50 on the ASVAB( as oppsoed to 35 for HS grads), many job fields are closed to you AND there are, overall, VERY few slots for GED holders period. They only accept like 1% of all new recruits as GED holders.

The marines will recruit you if you have either a High school degree or a GED. Good luck to you.
