THIS life is all about NOT dying.
It's your choice to die or live forever.

The ultimate question! But the answer is not as simple as you suggest. The ancient Israelites thought they had it figured out: The good are rewarded and the bad are punished. But experience taught them otherwise, that life is unfair. (That's was books like Job and Ecclesiastes were written to point out.) So the afterlife was discerned to make it possible for God to settle accounts that weren't settled in this life. It was believed that threats of punishment might turn the prosperous evil from their selfish ways, while promises of reward would give hope to the innocent downtrodden.
Unfortunately, the evil are very clever, and often turn this metaphysical moralizing on its head, reassuring the prosperous of their innate righteousness while worrying the naively honest with the tiniest imaginary transgressions.
So what could life possibly mean without a theological overlay? The one thing that makes self-awareness possible is memory. Experience makes it possible to learn. So our natural fear is discontinuity, death. We want to be able to continue rembering our experiences, otherwise, why store them at all? But do we fear the end of a banquet or the end of a symphony? Do we want to keep track of the carnival after our roller coaster ride has ended? There may be something unhealthy in hanging on too hard to experiences to somehow make them "meaningful".
Some fear moral collapse if there is no reward for thankless service in this life. But without that service, life itself is that much more hellish. Believer or not, we can all appreciate that.
Perhaps the meaning of life is to enjoy it, and to make it more possible for others to enjoy it, reducing the unfairness by kindness. When our time comes, we should not begrudge the next generation its turn as we become part of the unconscious historical background. We are creatures of our time and would not fit in a time earlier or later than our own. Enjoy life, try to leave it better than when you entered it. For some of us, that is enough. We don't require candy and cuddles and happily-ever-after at the end of our story.

Well no one really knows what happens after you die. So if you were to say that after we die we either go to heaven or hell then most people would not believe that fact because your only human and you have never been to heaven or seen hell have you? So the real anwsers for non believers is with someone who has been to and seen both realms of the after life which are heaven and hell. And only one man/god to have ever seen them is jesus and if you ask him about it he will describe it to you in his book the holy bible. But for most non believers they think of jesus being just as more a mistery as the after life and death. But if non believers and all people want to now what lies beyond the grave they must first search for proof that jesus is real and alive today and trust in him and know that he has all the answers to all of life's questions. But of course angels and satain have also seen heaven but they can't describe it better then jesus can because he has all the knowlege of the universe and beyond.

Life is about the living of it. Yes you are going to die, everybody gets to die. But you can raise a family, try to make the world a bit better for them if you can, and realize that you live on through them. Children are the only claim any of us have on immortality.
The big secret is to be aware of your death and use it to remind yourself to enjoy this very sweet and precious thing called life. Because you are right, it will not last forever and it is all there is, so when it is time over you want to have enjoyed it all.
Dorkmiester is making a joke, OK.

U nearly said it life is about life and not about death
we have Birth Life and Death beginning middle and end so while alive make the best of it if you procrastinate till death hoping to win the lottery then you loose because in are seriousness death is just that death! there is really no logical reason for the If in your question life is about itself and I guarantee we are all going to die eventually! So now what is the question?
peace out and enjoy the life while u can it's only now!

Life is about the circle. I will die and my child will grow older and keep the circle going. Life is about now, but it is also about the future, just because you personally won't be here has nothing to do with it, your children or others children will and they are memories of you, pieces of you. Around we go, we have the here and now and others will have the future and there is so much in that, that I'm sure I can find something to do for the years I have left.

Is this for non-believers or can anyone answer this....??
We all know we are leaving here by some way. And where we go from here depends on how we live today.........
The laws are written in the hearts of both a believer and a non......
Pain effects both the believer and the non-believer alike...... It's how one chooses to deal with the pain that determines whether one has lived life......

If we didn't learn the truth from the Messenger of the One True God, life would seem meaningless even before we die!
All the Messengers of God say that physical death is only the beginning of the eternal spiritual life. It is really pity for the heedless, who have neither faith nor knowledge.

The reason for life is growth, experience, and nature. The cause of life is procreation. The cause of existence is debatable and beyond any of us.The end result of any one persons life is death. This is defined by nature and is the result of life. The afterlife is debatable.perhaps there is no afterlife.Perhaps it is just a transfer from one natural life in this realm to a form of energy somewhere else.Nobody knows. But most people are willing to accept what some books says.I am not one of those people.

Some fanatical beliefs are illogical and very dangerous. Strap a bomb to your chest and blow up 30 innocent people and live forever in paradise. Yeah right. I'll take atheistic non violence over religious fanaticism every time.

Although your question may be intended for non-believers, please dont persecute me for this. Life is intended to be lived to the fullest. This would describe all that Christ has to offer. The only thing you can enjoy being a non-believer is happiness. But the greatest thing about God is that He offers you TRUE LIFE! With Him, you get to experience JOY! With knowledge of the Lord, you cannot know the true meaning of Joy. Please, i urge you, find out about Christ! Do not waste another minute of your life. That empty feeling you have inside, thats what He is desiring to fill! LISTEN.......yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not promised, today is the day for salvation! If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me! May the Lord Bless You Abundantly!!!
