it depends on who they are and what makes them tick. your general focus is to always let someone that you appeciate be aware that you acknowledged a gesture from their effort and concern.

the notification of gratitude should vary with the individual. sometimes, the simple verbal expression "thank you" is all and and necessarily enough, being the one and only way to make the
person aware without overwhelming or making them feel embarrassed or uncomfortable. those are usually the type of people who weren't offering a gesture for something in return and expecting it never crosses their minds.

i usually develop my thank you or reward according to what would really make that other person feel as good as they have made me feel inititally. and the emphasis on the level of gratification always should go hand in hand with how extreme, difficult, time consuming, or demanding the effort that they directed towards my benefit.

remember, no matter what people appear to make you believe, everyone needs to know that their efforts have not gone wasted and in vain. their good will should be appreciated and they just need to know that; regardless of what they lead you to maybe believe.

When someone did me a favor or gave me something, I express my gratitude in different ways...saying thank you depends on the favor given to you..it's fulfilling to say thanks even in words, simply saying "thank you" means a lot to the giver..what more if the gesture of appreciation is more than the giver's expectation? You will see the rewards after..a small kind act on returning the favor is a big matter to the person..when someone gave you a card, you say thank you or you also send him or her a card in return..when a neighbor gave you a lift, you can express your thanks in a different act like helping his or her kid fix the bike..these are just examples but you can return the thanks in million ways, of course, that should be the one that's comfortable for you..smile and have a nice day!

Say Thank You (always), and when they need a favor, make sure that you take care of it for them right away, I usually respond with "DONE" before they even finish the request to me, it's very important to return favors, and say thank you, probably the most important thing in life, as we are judged by our actions, not our Intentions.

If the person is a stranger- a thank you and a greatful smile is enough. If it's towards someone I know - a thank you and a touch on the hand, arm or shoulder, if it's someone very close to me - a thank you and a hug! That should convey the message.
God bless you!

Just by interacting doing good things. Rather than to say thankyou now and then, show your interesting in action because action speaks louder than words. Also bible says that, what ever good things are registed in the heavenly book of life, do not wish to be popular in this world.

Usually I verbally thank them. I also, when I can, do something nice for them to let them know I appreciate what they've done for me.
