don't put your cat in a small cupboard that'll scare him....try to catch your cat in the act and when he is done gentily take his head and stick his nose up to the poo, don't actually stick his nose in it as cat's do lick their noses and it'll make him sick but get him just close enough to smell it and don't let him turn his head......then scoop the poop up and take it and ur cat to the litter box and dump the poop in the box with the litter and set ur cat in the box making him aware of the poop so he'll know that's where he is to go...or change ur litter, some cats can't stand that pellet kind or the recycable kind, the grainy sand kind is the best

You can't have too many litter boxes. Most cats do not like covered ones and like you have seen it makes it easier for another cat to attack because the cat is trapped in a covered box. I would have at least 3 uncovered boxes around the house. If the male cats gets too aggressive with the female drugs like prozac can help them. The prozac will make him less aggressive and help her be less nervous. Ask your vet for advice too.

I had this problem when I got my new kitten. He wasn't box trained. He used to poo in one corner of my room. I picked the poo up, put it in the box, and placed the box where he pooed. He's been using it ever since!
