We have seen solid granite and granite w/acrylic blend sinks in stores. The prices seem to be a bit more for solid granite, but not too bad.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of granite sinks vs the normal stainless steel ones?

composite, composite, composite. true granite is much too porous, stains, etc. is very high maintenance. the acrylic composite sinks ROCK. i had one in my last house, and have one to install here but am waiting on the coutertops. can't wait. they are heat resistant, do not stain, don't scratch, nothing sticks to them, etc. they are the best. traditional stainless are good as well, but they will show scratches.

I have a granite with acrylic blend sink installed 2 years ago. Just love it. It's black and stains don't show up much. Looks beautiful with black granite or similar color. It's worth the price.
And there's no need for maintenance on the acrylic blend.
You will see water marks on stainless, and it's noisy on the lighter gauge ones.
