It's weird. I just minutes ago answered this question for a male friend of mine. Foreplay is the start of sex. It's something that's done prior to intercourse and works for both the man and the woman.
It could be playing with her nipples and her nibbling your ear or just talk. It's whatever two people need to get each other excited. By excited I mean it arouses her labia and lets her produce the lubricants she needs to make intercourse easier. It also could be bringing her to orgasm. For the guy it means starting the erection process and getting an erection. Young guys can get an erection easily, but when a guy gets old and more experience under his belt (literally) he senses things differently. In other words, a kiss doesn't excite him and get him hard.
I told this very same story to a friend tonight. For my girlfriend and I foreplay is spending a weekend hanging out and being friendly. We try new things and talk and do daring things. For us, sex is the dot at the end of the sentence and not the thrust of our relationship.
We spent the weekend talking and having fun. Friday night was spent touching and fondling each other, talking and just having fun without intercourse. I had all I could do Saturday not to explode. See the foreplay started Friday for her and me. Then Saturday we spent the day doing silly things. She got her nails done and I did some business things. We joked, teased, touched, kissed etc. but didn't have sex. It's all foreplay. Then came saturday night. We stroked and caressed each other which we both knew was going to lead to sex.
We didn't have to ask eachother or talk about it. It just happened. Because we spent so much time and there was so much lust we made love for 5 hours Saturday night.
It's interesting and something that you'll only learn after years of sexual experience. Foreplay for a woman is emotional and for a guy is physical. If you treat her like a woman she'll treat you like a guy. Woman will give back 10 fold if you treat her good. Talking and listening and compassion is a good thing that will help her (and you ultimately) enjoy sex more.
As you get older you will also understand that intimacy is understanding that her needs should come first before your needs. I have an old saying that you shouldn't put away the tool box until the job is done. in other words, help her *** before you do. She'll be a lot happier and it will make your job that much easier the next time.
All I can reference is personal experience. And that is this: if you make it enjoyable for her - it's foreplay for the next time. She'll look forward to it and enjoy it more. If you're humping like rabbits then it's not going to be enjoyable for the girl and she'll find someone who makes her happy.
Enjoy it; it's sex.

The most important part of sexual intercourse. And also very exciting and I would have to say necessary as well. It simply means getting your partner excited so that sexual intercourse can me more fun and enjoyed better.
It can classified as kissing each other, touching the body of the partner and other personal areas in order to excite the person. For a man it would be touching lower parts of a girl or her breasts as in fondling with them.
For a girl it can be touching the sexual organs of the man.
Getting a girl excited would means that vagina is quite wet and lubricated so it makes insertion easy and less painful. I would probably say that it is good for those people who are stilll virgins and would want to remain the same that till they r 18 or married or some thing like that. I enjoy foreplay quite a lot and at times just leave it there and my partner also agrees with me when both of us tired and donot want to have intercourse. Hope this explains the topic!!!

Getting your partner excited and prepared for sex.
It just doesn;t happen. Guys need an erection, women need to be relaxed and lubed for reception. To start sex without that is painful and unpleasant for each person.
Foreplay can be long or short. Most men want to penetrate immediately, many women need more time or vice versa.
It can be just as must pleasure or more than sex itself. "heavy petting" qualifies as foreplay. Personally, having the woman make the sex move makes them ready for a great experience, else it just get to be a male release. It takes time.
As for techniques, it varies. kissing and rubbing is usually involved sometimes ending in fondling, cunniligus or felatio.

Actually, its usually spelled 'foreplay'. But yes, it is just the actions before the actual intercourse to get the partner aroused/ in the mood.
