Absolutely. Muscle twitches, stomach aches, hands shaking, blurring in both eyes and a lousy feeling about life in general. I used to snap at my wife and dog. It took me two weeks to get off the drug before I began to feel better. Even after a month I had days when I could feel the need for the drug to help me stabilize myself. The doctor then put me on Ativan and the results are better with less side effects. Excellent for sleeping, but after awhile 1 milligram of Ativan isn't enough to put me right to sleep. I now need 1.5 Ativans for sleep and merely 1/2 mg for steading my nerves. It is a better drug than Xanax. Quite cheap if you buy the generic drug.

Well i don't know if you are responsible for stopping so sudden or your doctor gave you the wrong advice, but any heavy medication should be stopped gradually, as after some time of using it you become sort of addicted so body needs to get use to dealing without certain chemicals that med had in it (and we are here talking about very strong pills!). Please contact your doctor and see with him how to ease the "getting off" phase. You are having bad side effects of it, which is common for the way how you stopped it but shouldn't be neglected! All the best!

What dosage are you taking to get that ? I have taken small does for years, not constantly but as needed. I have never had xanax cause spasms. I have had it stop them. you must be taking a huge amount. Don't take so much or just stop taking it.

Small doses for shorter period should not have such effects. You must be on Xanax for much longer period i guess.

You should never just come off cold turkey. You should ween yourself down.
