I'm guessing that putting the car into a garage is not an option, but it doesn't cost that much to get a tarp to put over the car. Cats will find flat, high spots and rest on them - that's just the way that cats are.

Well, you could try the product linked below. It costs some money, but maybe not as much as a paint job. Only thing is, you have to train every cat that comes into the neighborhood that they don't want to be on your car.

Me, I drive an 18-year old car that used to be white, and I live on what must be one of the the dustiest islands in the world. Cats can hang out on my car all they want.

Cats hate the smell of lemon, so when we wanted our cat to stop sitting on the kitchen table, we sprayed it with lemon. Give this a go!

Try putting a mesh bag of some kind (something that breathes) with some mothballs in it on the hood of your car when you park it.
