condition every time you wash your hair, wash your hair like once a week it helps keep natural oils in it and a really good treatment that's cheap is to get some real mayonnaise and cover your hair with it, put on a plastic cap and wait 45 min to wash it out. your hair will look great i promise.

Deep Conditioning treatments! You can get it done at salons, but you can also buy salon quality and do it at home or you can heat olive oil, add some essential oils (lavender's nice) apply after shampooing, top with a plastic bag and chill out for 45 minutes (make sure to wash out though!)
Most important, find a GOOD stylist. I'm a hair dresser and I can tell you the most important thing you can do is find a hair dresser that will get to know your hair, give you a cut that works with your texture and give you products that will work. If they have naturally curly hair that's a definite bonus.
Be prepared to put some work into it though, because you won't get the hang of it right away, but once you learn the tricks you'll wonder how you ever got around without them!
Good luck

I would take a flat iron to it. But not too often. You should try adding some John Frieda's Frizz Ease (or something of that nature) I'm half Puerto Rican, and I have VERY curly hair. It's very hard to manage. I either use a flat iron, or I put a product called CHI It's sold at most beauty supply stores. It's a little pricy, but it keeps my hair tame, and manegable. You can use it as a protector for your hair before you use your flat iron (only use a drop, it's kind of oily). OR you can use it to when you wear your hair curly to keep the frizz down. Add some gel and hairspray after (or mousse) and it won't get hard because of the CHI. I love it!

That's half the problem...You want to get results using "cheap" methods....Buy only quality hair-care products from a licensed salon....Discount stores sell "Paul Mitchell". But it's a knock-off brand using their label...(I'm married to a stylist)

I do home remedies once a week to my dry hair, and with time it really helps.
