i am getting married in two weeks i have not worked on my vows as hard as i should be or could be. don't get me wrong, i do love this woman and want to spend the rest of my life with her. we are having a small civil ceromony ( because that is what we want). i know that the vows come from the heart and are supposed to say the things that mean the most to the author of the vows, but where do i begin, any hints would be appreciated, thanks!!!

thats a tough one.
If i were the lucky girl, I know i'd want to hear how loved i am, and how special. it's the little things that say it all.
tell her about the first time a song made you think of her; the first time you saw her cry; and the first time you saw your future with her. Be honest, be sincere, let her know what she already knows. That there's nothing you'd better do, than spend the rest of your life with her. then relax; it'll be a wonderful day for you both.

hope I've helped. congratulations, and all the best.

Begin by telling her how much you love her and what she means to you, and how she makes your life better, then you can make some promises to her like i promise to always be honest or i promise to be the best husband i can be or promise to listen things like that but only make promises that mean something to you things that you really want to promise her. You may also want toinclude something funny like i promise not to hog the remote control or something like that. Your vows mean just that what vows do you want to make to your wife.

just start writing down things that you like about her... or how you felt when you first realized she was the one for you. just write feelings and don't worry about how good it sounds. then, go from there. also, see if a close friend will help you make them sound better. as long as it is your feelings, then i don't see why it matters if you had some help getting things to sound better.

don't worry, 2 weeks is plenty of time to get it together!!!

I never knew you had to work on vows for a civil ceremony. I wouldn't worry about it.

The officiant should tell you what voes you are supposed to say. This SHOULD NOT be some lovey-dovey speech, it is a legal commitment to each other.

I know we are going to argue, I know there are going to be hard times, I know at some point in our marriage one of us or both of us is going to want to walk away. But I do know this love that I feel for you will last a lifetime.

You could start with what you just said "Where do I begin to tell you what you mean to me" "You are my Blah Blah Blah" ect. Should sound okay.

Have you ever googled? Try it "Wedding Vows"

I like th e Dr Seuss vows:

Pastor: Will you answer me right now
These questions, as your wedding vow?

Groom: Yes, I will answer right now
Your questions as my wedding vow.

Pastor: Will you take her as your wife?
Will you love her all your life?

Groom: Yes, I take her as my wife,
Yes, I'll love her all my life.

Pastor: Will you have, and also hold
Just as you have at this time told?

Groom: Yes, I will have, and I will hold,
Just as I have at this time told,
Yes, I will love her all my life
As I now take her as my wife.

Pastor: Will you love through good and bad?
Whether you're happy or sad?

Groom: Yes, I'll love through good and bad,
Whether we're happy or sad,
Yes, I will have and I will hold
Just as I have already told,
Yes, I will love her all my life,
Yes, I will take her as my wife!

Pastor: Will you love her if you're rich?
Or if you're poor, and in a ditch?

Groom: Yes, I'll love her if we're rich,
And I will love her in a ditch,
I'll love her through good times and bad,
Whether we are happy or sad,
Yes, I will have, and I will hold
(I could have sworn this has been told!)
I promise to love all my life
This woman, as my lawful wife!

Pastor: Will you love her when you're fit,
And also when you're feeling sick?

Groom: Yes, I'll love her when we're fit,
And when we're hurt, and when we're sick,
And I will love her when we're rich
And I will love her in a ditch
And I will love through good and bad,
And I will love when glad or sad,
And I will have, and I will hold
Ten years from now a thousandfold,
Yes, I will love for my whole life
This lovely woman as my wife!

Pastor: Will you love with all your heart?
Will you love till death you part?

Groom: Yes, I'll love with all my heart
From now until death do us part,
And I will love her when we're rich,
And when we're broke and in a ditch,
And when we're fit, and when we're sick,
(Oh, CAN'T we get this finished quick?)
And I will love through good and bad,
And I will love when glad or sad,
And I will have, and I will hold,
And if I might now be so bold,
I'll love her my entire life,
Yes, I WILL take her as my wife!

Pastor: Then if you'll take her as your wife,
And if you'll love her all your life,
And if you'll have, and if you'll hold,
From now until the stars grow cold,
And if you'll love through good and bad,
And whether you're happy or sad,
And love in sickness, and in health,
And when you're poor, and when in wealth,
And if you'll love with all your heart,
From now until death do you part,
Yes, if you'll love her through and through,
Please answer with these words:

Pastor and Groom: I DO!

Pastor: You're married now! So kiss the bride,
But please, do keep it dignified.
