Why just blame the children. It can also be parents too. I know a parent who tried to swindle from his NRI kid. The NRI kid sent his parents a hell a lot of money out of love, affection and trust.
When the NRI settled back in India, he requested for the money back. The parents, despite owning crores of properties, did not want to see the NRI living a comfortable life on his own. The parents greediness began to irk the NRI. Despite pleading and mediating through friends and relatives, the parents did not oblige.
So the NRI did the natural thing. He filed a suit against his own parents. And the parents lost the case as well. The monetory sum was returned back to the NRI.
Moral of this TRUE episode: Greed might make some kids to look beyond their parents, but the same applies to the parents as well.

The parents no matter how busy should fine time to spend quality time with children. A certain day of the week should be put aside for this activity. On the other hand, children should understand that the parents are working for them, so that they could have a better life and be provided with the basic things that they need. Love should be the guiding factor for both to understand each other.

It is no use to worry by a parent., it should be from our kids side.still you are saying your children as kids. How much affection you have . the same they should have. In this world,"money have more world than the parental affection" this is tested true word.Leave a few exception.
Purcahseing of flat, car and a good wife.. all comes from money.
In olden days a family run in a small house without rooms. They do all the things in the same room.
but all cahnged., media is another thing spoing the world. even though it is great to talk with you on line.but many bad evils also there.
Mkaing money,getting assets..... no affection joy,happy in the family..,
when all know that we cannot eat money,it may possible to have affection within the family
for all money and our ambition for money are the cause.
