I would definitely hope not. I would seem to me that if our destinies were pre-determined then there would be no reason for any of us to do anything we didn't feel like. If I decided to spend the rest of my life sitting on the couch, eating pizza and watching Spongebob Squarepants then that would obviously have been my destiny and there would be nothing I could do about it.

So, it would seem to be a totally uninteresting universe. Kind'a like two people playing a chess game out of a book - you know every move, every response and the end result.

I don't necessarily believe that God predetermines our destinies as some Calvinists do. What I do believe isthat we are bound to make the decisions we make, because of the people we are. Therefore that makes some people believe there is some sort of higher force controling our lives. Whereas I just say that is part of who we are as individuals and you should never stop trying to better yourself and achieve what you want to achieve in life!

I believe to that to some extent they are, such as if you will have children or whom you will meet. I believe though, that you can change your destiny. That certain actions you take (or don't take) will change the outcome of your future.
On some level you create your own, but the major things (I think) are set in stone.

It depends on what you mean by destiny. Do you mean earthly destiny, or eternal destiny, or both?

An answer is--in any event--yes and no.

If one chooses not to love and serve God, one does not claim his or her inheritance, which is God's purpose for his or her life. And so this person is free to create whatever path he or she chooses...although there are consequences for his or her hubris and whatnot along the way.

If one chooses to love and serve God, then one enters into God's purpose for his or her life, which has been laid out in advance.

That is, God has a purpose for each of us, but we have to seek God in order to find that purpose. If we seek and find him, and turn our will and our life over to God, he will begin shaping us into the purpose he made us for. If we do not seek God's will for our life, we will never get to claim the purpose he has created for us.

When one enters into God's will, one enters into the deep mysteries, where there is a co-creation of life. God and his beloved child co-operate in the fulfillment of the child's purpose.

And then, whichever path one chooses in life--to love and serve God or to not--determines one's place in eternity.

All very hard to explain, since it is--again--deep, thick, and mysterious, intensely personal between a person and God.

No, but I believe that we have a great deal of control over our destinies.

Predestined, but not "pre-judged". He didn't "judge" us before he created us. Judgement Day hasn't happened yet, so there's still time to repent before God decides who to cast into hell. God saw we would be evil before he created us, YES, but he never judged us yet. He will not decide our fates until judgement day. So there's all the opportunity in the world to ask and recieve salvation right now, since God hasn't judged you. Repent while ye can.

No....

I believe that some among us are.... According to Ephesians 1, some of among us were chosen before the foundation of the world for purpose other than our own......

Those of us with our own "self made" attitudes, are not chosen for purpose because life is about our own selves.....

nope, just barely predictable even and then only on a large scale. Life is a statistical event governed by probabilities.
