Many gave descriptions of it as a burning, firey place etc. If ya think of it, it's like those poor victims of 9/11, burning to death, but god won't give us the option of jumping to end it all.
How do you not freak out?!? My mom is a born-again, and I have rejected Jesus. So, by this thought, while mom is blissful in heaven, I am in the worst torment she can imagine. Forever. So, my last question...
Will mom remember me in heaven or not?
If she remembers me, how can she be happy? Me? (sinful human) I can't be happy if someone I love is in pain. If mom is made "christlike" how can she lose Christ's empathy and kindness?
If she doesn't remember me, then that means god sets up heaven with a kind of "brainwashing" feature. So his sheep don't know what's happening to their family members - which you HAVE to admit is a little creepy.
Sorry! Ha! This is the wordiest I've ever been on here!
My question, again, "does mom remember me in heaven, while I'm in hell"

Poki and Larry - your indifference to the pain of millions for eternity borders on inhuman, to be honest.
Alter, I can't accept jesus because the description of hell is awful anymore than you could become muslim because THEIR description of hell is even worse. I don't pick our belief system based on fear! Do you?

I am a christian, my little brother is not. This really bothers me and my mom because we hope that those we love will be with us.
Anyway, of course your mother will remember you!The other question is a good one.The unfotunate problem is no one can give you an answer for sure. We're still here.I do believe that in heaven we will all be happy like we've never known and at peace.I do believe in hell, but im not sure if i believe in fire and brimstone.I believe hell will be personal for each person just like my heaven will be different from everyone elses. In that i mean, if am in a coma, my heaven would be being able to run around and see the people i love most.Hell for me would be being all alone in the dark.
I know this doesnt answer all of your questions but i feel that you cant get that answer here.I would never try to convince you of my faith, i believe that is a personal choice.I do hope, however, that because i assume you are young you will find GOD and will no longer have to struggle with this question.

I am a Christian and I don't believe the way your mother does. If there is a hell, I think Hitler and the likes of him might be there. There are lots of different Christians. The leaders of certain churches have set up their beliefs through out time. There have been many wars over religion since time began. When King James was King of England he called 50 Scholars to translate the Bible. I think to make it more readable so it would be understood. Some of the wars were because the government wanted the power or wants the power over the common man. I believe when we die and go to heaven we may have issues to work out but we would have to be very very bad to go to hell. You don't have to reject Jesus. All you have to do is have faith that He exists.

Well the book "The Great Divorce" by C.S. Lewis answers this very question of how heaven could still be a paradise for those who are there when they know people are 'burning' in hell. Lewis is a Christian writer and its a very Christian book, but I would still recommend it if you are looking for a Christian answer to this question. Its a rather short read also and helps define Christian teachings so that we can live in a world with more understanding across religious and philosophical beliefs.

The Bible is God's word and it says most definately there is a hell. Heaven is described as a place where there is no pain, no darkness and God shall wipe away every tear. I have to believe your mom is not going to remember you, the former things will be wiped away. But.......... you can be with your mom, just give Jesus a chance, let Him wipe away your sin and give you eternal life with Him. Even if Hell were not weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth it would still be Hell just for the simple reason that it is void of the presence of God. The Bible says, where God is there is also an abundance of grace and mercy. Hell has no mercy, it burns forever and is without God. Don't wait until it is too late.

I get the feeling - both here in Europe but very much so in the US that the book is read as a literal manual for sure truth. There aren't a word to be interpreted as easy as that in THAT text,
check out The Upanishads or learn the mystics of Sufi (ji'had means the inner stride you do w yourself-all other are like with the literal Christianity) A insurance contract for scared and the intellectual lazy.
When we dint grasp anything,we say 'no'.
It cost nothing and can be defended as your secret truth(not that you are lazy-this we never chose to see in our self) so gay are evil,Allah is a evil god even its only the Arabic word for god direct translated and the strange mix of patriotism and "faith" (do as the boss orders) From the outside these people should not be considered adults.
But there are true miracle to wash up out of even the bible THATS FOR SURE !
but these ppl have stolen the miracle and given it back to the demiurg so he can have us as slaves instead of the freedom in Christ. The literals call this duty and get insane and in your case may use even guns in their must to defend that they are so intellectual lazy that they gave the "devil" back the fruits from the miracle of Christ just so they can say NO as we slave in the bad salary shop of "the old one"

Well, theres two parts to this answer:
A)The first part is God will show every Christian what we should of done to save people- needless to say billions of christians will be crying and weeping at their failure to help save people.
B)The second part is then Gods Mercy of where he will eliminate all of our pain and memorys of those people we failed to help- so, in the end, Moms not going to remember you.

The word hell occurs in the KJV at least 53 times. That's a lot for something you don't believe exists. And anyway, if you don't believe it exists don't go. Of course the Bible says...
I Cr 13;8a

in fact, Hell is so much worse than the 9/11 inferno or even the califoria natural fires.
it's a kind of fire we've never seen before and the bad thing about Hell is that you don't die!!! it's constant torture.
so good luck.

who said she's going to heaven? her? her preacher? her religion? you? she'll go where she will when she will. it will be her decision, based on what she has DONE, not what she thinks! she may wind up in hell, while you look down from heaven. the choices people make determine where they go, not what they think, are told, or believe. you have the gift of free will, as does she. you make choices, as does she. theymay be right or wrong, but they are your's. and hers. what may be right for you, may be wrong for her, and vice versa. live as you decide, not as she tells you to. she may be wrong.

I don't think that we will know each other in heaven. There is no sadness there, and knowing that u did not make it would make your mother unhappy.
