Heavenly Father,
I have been rejected and despised;
I am hurting and destroyed by the pain.
I am angry with others and with you, O God,
for there is no comfort, none anywhere.
I call your name and you are absent.
I wonder why you let me suffer so.
My cries echo in the universe
and ring in my ears
and I am weary of the taste of my tears.
Hear my plea, O God of love.
Let me not be destroyed
by this agony on the brink of death.
I am like a broken reed,
fragile and crushed.
Hear my plea, O God of love.
Let me not be destroyed.
When it seems that we are actually, finally at our wits' end... and we've seen the end of all that we can do, that is when you are at your nearest, your most miraculous, your best. Sometimes, the road we trudge seems destined to be dusty and desolate forever. And yet, just around the corner, just over the next hill, we see new life, we see hope. I pray for this hope for those who [are depressed].
May you bring them what they need, that they may once again be dancing on this earth.

If you have a Bible, look up Psalms in the Old Testament. This may sound really different to you, but you can actually pray the scripture. Just read the scripture out loud as a prayer of your heart. Psalms 37 is very comforting. Begin memorizing and meditating on God's word and you will feel your heaviness lifting off you like a garment. I promise you each time you feel alone if you go to the Bible you will feel such peace, like you've never felt in your life. Try it.

Prayers do not have an effect. You HAVE to understand this. Whether or not there's a god, prayer is not going to have an effect. If there's NO god, what's the point? If there IS a god, he's already made all the decisions about our lives and we cant convince him to change his mind, so AGAIN theres no point.
Instead, if you are desperately unhappy, seek counseling or join a club and meet people. Be social. Take up a sport. Join a book club. Volunteer at a charity. These things will make you feel less lonely.

It is important to talk to someone.
Preferrably, someone with the gift of compassion and a gift for counselling.
Everyone gets down sometimes.
Some, more than others, some deeper than others.
But it is necessary to get through those times. Sometimes, these times are necessary in order for us to realize that we must move on, and do something different from what we have been doing.
Try joining a bible study group, and joining some activities.
If you have time, don't rule out activities involving volunteering to help others to get back into circulation and find people you have something in common with. (At this time, maybe don't volunteer to provide counselling to others, or you will push your own needs on them, be wise).
King David's Psalms have many passages where he was down.
http://www.crossroad.to/HisWord/verses/topics/blessed.htm
has many references to David's Psalms, and other scriptures. There are many Psalms that show David in deep despair!

The best prayer is one that comes from your heart. God is not afraid of your feelings and He is always there to listen and to comfort. Talk to him honestly and ask Him to show you the way to peace. David wrote in a Psalm asking God why his heart was troubled. It was a tearful psalm of heartache. And God called David a man after his own heart!
Get alone for a time and pour out your heart to Him. He understands and loves you.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid
Hebrews 13:5 [Let your] conversation [be] without covetousness; [and be] content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
If you love Jesus you have nothing to worry about.

Dear God,
Give me strength to feel good about myself. Give me my personal power back, allow me to find what it is that will make me happy and not so alone. Give me the guts to go out and join life again. Give me the guts to start feeling good about myself. Let me go out and surround myself with good friends. Send positive people into my life. Give me the strength to look up the local Newspaper to find what courses are running in my area. Give me the courage to join a self esteem group. Give me the understanding that I have the power over my own life. Allow me the time to accept that I am a wonderful and productive person. Let me also understand that I have the power to change my life and give me the strength to stop thinking negative thoughts. Stop my procrastination and let myself go and live life. But also God, please make me understand that negative influences around me does not define who I am. Make me understand the problems of other people is their responsibilities and not mine. And last of all God, please help me remember that I am the Master of My Own Destiny.
Good luck...you do have it within yourself to make changes. With determination and a positive attitude you will make changes in your life. You do need support, you do need to be surrounded by positive people and if God gives you peace then seek him out. Whatever is going to make you feel good is a positive step.

JESUS I ASK PEACE,NOT WORLD PEACE,BUT YOUR PEACE JESUS.
TOUCH THIS LIFE AND POUR YOUR HOLY GHOST INTO THEM TO BRING COMFORT,SHELTER THEM IN YOUR LOVING ARM.
GIVE THEM JOY UNSPEAKABLE AND FULL OF GLORY.
FATHER I KNOW YOU ARE WITH THEM. BUT I ASK THAT YOU WOULD SEND A PRAYER WARRIOR TO THEM TO TEACH THEM HOW TO SEEK OUT YOUR PROMISES AND HOW TO STAND ON THEM.
AMEN
