Both of my sons have ringworm on their heads and I'm not sure how long it is contagious and how long I need to keep my oldest out of school.

Get your son on an antifungal cream you can buy over the counter, alert the school about the ringworm, and keep your son out of school for 1 day till the anti-fungal cream has a chance to take effect. Ringworm is just a fungus that can go away anywhere from a week or two.

Ringworm is very contagious and they will tell you to keep your children out of school. There are many treatments for this disease especially with special oils and salves. Go on line and dial in "ringworm" and there will be many companies that produce soap, salve and oils to eliminate ringworm.

I have ringworm and my doctor told me it was VERY contagious. If they scratch their head and then touch another kid, that kid could get . I wouldn't send mine but I am not you. My MD told me to wrap the area but that's kind of hard to do if it's their head. I have had ringworm for 3 months (it keeps getting spread back to me). I would really talk to their doctor. You don't want to have a health epidemic of ringworm.
