Let's take the word "White" out of this question and ask it again...
Is is wrong to trip a person in the grocery store?
If it was through a pure accident with nothing done by you to create teh accident, then it's not wrong.
HOWEVER, if you trip anyone and could have prevented it, then it is wrong.
Being "white" has nothing to do with whether it's right or wrong.

If I tripped you in the grocery store, would it be ok for you to be mad if I was white? Wake up. What difference does it make what color the people are. pay attention to what you are doing and apologise when you screw up

I agree that having the word 'white' in the question is irrelevant, unless you are a racist.
But if your tripping this person was an accident and they got mad, it is because you scared them. It is natural to have that feeling when scared. Hope you appologized!

I really don't see how skin color is even an issue here. If it was an accident, accidents happen. WHen it does, apologies are appropriate, no matter what color someone is. Some people have anger issues, and if they thought it was deliberate, or were hurting because of a fall that could be why they were angry.

It's wrong for you to trip any person in a grocery store, or anywhere, for that matter; be they white, yellow, brown or black.

It's not customary to tip anyone in a grocery store - white or anyone else. You also wouldn't tip anyone at the doctor's office or the movie theater. Save your money to tip people at restaurants and hotels!

If its sincerely done by accident I wouldn't sweat it. If you apologised I wouldn't sweat it ya know?
Of course if you tripped them on purpose then they should be angry with you right?
